If he thought of and supposidly had a devalopement plan for this Chip, it still begs the question; Why is he in jail, and can he be still be considered credible sane?

So, what's he inside for?
It's a good question, but not one I'm able to find out I'm afraid.
He is also putting up a claim that he has been "unlawfully imprisoned", but I think without delving through Oregon's police records, I can't really tell you.
So he's like every other person in prison? But I wasn't aware people in jail could sue, seems logical now that I think about it.

Anyway I find his letter rather stupid, who the hell responds well to a threat?

Perhaps this guy is just simply brilliant rather than technically so.

Upon receiving his $5 billion, he would instruct Intel to achieve the amazing feat of the hacker- and virus-proof computer: Turn the machine off.

Though previous incarnations of computer hardware are capable of this, this is the first hardware specifically designed for it.

Next he'll be telling us he invented the lightbulb and a Delorian that can not only travel back in time but is also hacker and virus proof, lets hope he learns from his mistakes and doesnt send that to Apple

How does a county of over 30000 with a town containing over 10000 people not have an online public access system? I live in a county of just over 30000 with a town seat with a population just over 5000 in the rural midwest and even we have online public records. I really don't want to call the west coast just to find out why he's in prison, but I'm curious. That's not even the point of the article and I'm curious.

Doesn't anyone else love how the letter he sent to Intel has striking similarities to, say, a ransom note?
Forget about ransom, it reminds me of outright extortion. It's probably the worst attempt at extortion I've ever seen, but still extortion nevertheless.
