Prometheus comes out in two weeks now and I wondered if anyone had any theories about what will happen in it and any other speculation.

Lots of contrived references to the Aliens movies, a plot that doesn't make sense, sexxay young thangs instead of people that can act and a cliffhanger ending.

my theory is this the 'new planet' they find is actually primordial earth as they go what looks like a through a worm hole at the start of the film and at the the when the aliens leave the planet at the end they realize that they are on fact on earth and have to restart humanity and as the androids in the future are so advanced the android in it is the farther of the human race. so there it is my Prometheus theory.

"It's a prequel to Alien."

That's about as much speculation as there is. Press screenings start next week, so we'll probably here more then.

Ooooh someones bitter. Those girls can act but you can write them off as attractive and young even though theyre just as old as any other cast in the alien series.

Have you actually seen the people they've cast for Prometheus?
Nope, that's just what I'd poke fun at any modern prequel of an old classic with. There's no particular reason why they'd ahve to go down that route, but nobody would be too surprised if they did.

Excited as hell.

Ridley Scott is amazing, I can't wait to see what he does with his second movie in the franchise. He's always innovative.

So first your a troll who doesnt even know and second you think the original Alien is without flaws and call it classic to make up for being old as you cant stand that something new may actually be just as good if not better in its own right.

my theory.
That would be interesting.

The crew go to a distant planet, they find the remains of a civilisation, while they are excavating it they discover that it isn't as ancient as they thought, and while trespassing on a ship they discover weird snake-like creatures which are proto-facehuggers. The facehuggers attack the crew, but aren't able to implant any of them since they are not developed to a compatible level. The Space Jockey's get angry at the crew, and hack their computers, finding the position of earth. While this has been going on the proto-facehuggers have developed to become more compatible with the humans, and are evolving fast. A spaceship takes off to bomb earth with the face-huggers, which have by now had enough human interaction that they have evolved to become compatible, and the ship is going to head to earth and bomb it with the face-huggers, thus wiping out humanity through the aliens. The remaining humans manage to crash the bomber ship, but their own vessel gets irrepairably destroyed in the process, and the last remaining humans send out a warning distress signal to stop anyone else coming for them, before commiting suicide/dying of wounds.

That signal is the one picked up by the crew of the Nostromo, who fly to the same planet and discover the crashed bomber ship with its human compatible facehuggers, thus the story is complete.

It was basically all explained in that really long trailer that was released a while back.

That's just Sarah Jessica Parker's cameo. BURN!

Only joking, I don't really know if I'm right, and these jars you speak of would be one thing I've missed, but that was the impression I got from watching the really long trailer:

No.

They don't need human hosts, they can use any old animal (of a certain size, maybe), though. And, how would you get round them all up and get them into your ships?

My only speculation is that it's going to end with the birth of the quinessential alien.

You know, the one that will erupt from the Space Jockey's chest.

I expect Idris Elba to get really angry and punch a wall, maybe kick a door or two. Not having him do that would be criminal.

http://youtu.be/vhvqthaBMYM

He's a damn fine actor, but he does anger very, very well.
