Prometheus theories? My theory is that Prometheus was gay and never really wanted to be a Titan to begin with. Besides, all the other Titans made fun of him for being scrawny and he didn't like the way the Gods treated mortals. He knew he could have sold the fire to Russia or China but he thought fire should be free and that it belonged in the public domain. He was probably also suffering from gender confusion and honestly I don't think it was fair to punish him at all.

I predict something better than AVP2. And that's giving it an extremely wide margin of success.

Naturally, since the Prometheus finds what appears to be the same spacecraft as the one in Alien, but on a different planet, I expect the ship to take off towards the end and the Prometheus to sacrifice itself to crash it, since the Nostromo doesn't seem to find the wreck on the same planet.

I'm not sure if it would qualify as a spoiler or not, the alien ship was shown taking off in the trailer.

Not sure if there will be any survivors or not. Ripley's corporation seems to know enough about to aliens to value the samples above the Nostromo's crews life, so someone's bound to bring back news.

My guess from seeing the trailer is that a race visited Earth in the stoneage put down widely spaced clues to the location of the planet. If the life on the planet gets smart enough to put the clues together its smart enough to be a threat. The aliens are left as a bio-weapon to wipe out any race that comes looking.

I expect Idris Elba to get really angry and punch a wall, maybe kick a door or two. Not having him do that would be criminal.

He's a damn fine actor, but he does anger very, very well.

Well you would be annoyed at being cast as angry black guy all the time. He must be going FFS can I get to be a librarian or an account.

my theory is this the 'new planet' they find is actually primordial earth as they go what looks like a through a worm hole at the start of the film and at the the when the aliens leave the planet at the end they realize that they are on fact on earth and have to restart humanity and as the androids in the future are so advanced the android in it is the farther of the human race. so there it is my Prometheus theory.
But when do they find the statue of liberty sticking out of the sand?!
They find a predator statue of liberty. Then, all their minds blow up and the end credits roll.
At the end of credits, a short scene shows a chimp-alien chestburster coming out of the predator statue of liberty. Que Prometheus: Resurrection in 3...2...1...GO!

I notice you didn't say "wrong".
Movie's not out yet, neither side can be wrong or right.

But I hope he is wrong, Mr Scott's last movie was crappy. Not sure his reputation will stand making a movie that is not only crappy, but is a crappy Alien sequel (albeit a prequel in plot terms).

On the other hand, Mr Geiger's done the creature design, things are going to get gruesome!

Oh, sure, I hope it doesn't suck, but I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think the franchise needs another movie, if it does badly, it won't fade into obscuirty the way some random bad movie would, it'll be a stain on the franchise.

Even if it turns out well, it also has to fit the continuity. "Would have been an alright film it it wasn't a _______ film" isn't anything new.
