Although it's old, all of the groups that originally protested the Atari 2600 game "Custer's Revenge" ended up helping sales. The controversy gave free advertising and sales went up 700%

Yeah, I actually leaned that in the research of this paper. Some even just threw the dead bodies in a dumpster behind a supermarket.
the peta episode of Penn & Teller's Bullshit is excellent and rather funny too

they also make mention of greenpeace in an episode on environmental hysteria if i'm not wrong, they also have one of the founders of greenpeace who has disowned them.

as for protestor who do more harm than good. there's an on going land dispute in ontario with the natives over some land in Deseronto, they blocked off a lane of traffic and i do believe set fire to something and being a bunch of jerks in general. a few ppl got arrested and they made the papers, however the best part came when the natives told them to stop doing protests on their behalf and they were not wanted and actually hurt the native cause. i laughed very hard at the response

The ACLU, I feel like these people treat every little thing like the government is trying to become the Galactic Empire or something like that, I know that the American Republic is something that we will eventually lose to a strong, powerful leader, but these people are insufferable.

Reading or listening to people from BADD (Bothered About Dungeons and Dragons) was like driving nails into my skull back when it was around.

Surprised no-one has mentioned Fathers 4 Justice before now. Dressing up as Batman and scaling Parliament does not a good father make.

Plus the media tends to forget how most of the aggrieved fathers who aren't allowed to see their precious children were banned from doing so by the courts, usually for a bloody good reason.

PETA - ...Do I honestly have to explain? Haven't we all heard of their shit by now? Major retards.

Gay pride parades - Sorry guys, Making yourselves look like huge freaks and a major nuisance to everyone is NOT gonna make the rest of the world more likely to accept you... It's like rubbing salt in a wound to make it stop burning...

4/7? Why such an odd fraction?
Because I Can.

Also one of the main people in P.E.T.A has diabetes, so she uses insulin, a drug that came from animal testing, yet says animal testing is wrong.
Oh, it's worse than that.
She has the gall to turn those animals into martyrs. "It's better that one pig die so that I can survive to save their brethren" is the general gist of her excuse.

A bunch of protested spray painted "KFCruelty" on the side of a KFC not far from me. They were protesting KFC's apparent cruelty towards their chickens. Dispite the fact that KFC (in australia anyway) get their chickens from another company.

The store had to pay a bunch of painters to paint over it.. Poor guys.

Not as large scale as say.. Running onto a runway but hurting the small guys is just as bad.

I never understood the IRA's hunger strikers in the 80s (Bobby Sands and all that). It seems stupid to me. They were declared enemies of Britain at the time, so they threatened to kill themselves unless Britain gave in to their demands...

Sounds like the crack suicide squad in Monty Python to me.

I will just simply say I can't stand how people refuse to respect the law on the basis that they dislike "Christian Morality".
Please expand. Honestly, I'm not sure what you mean. People who go out theiving and murdering and then complain that they are doing it just because the Bible says they cannot? (I've never heard that used but it might be a local thing for you). Or is it that you are Christian and this is the arguement that people put to you when you object to their gay partnership or similiar? Personally I alos don't like the idea that Christian morals are somehow superior. Most people don't need the help of the Bible to know that killing others and so on is bad. Whew.

But anyway, a bit more on topic. In Britain we don't have too many that I know of. However, the BNP's website (the main racist organisation in Britain)made me laugh. Someone gave me a link to it and told me to look at the google ad's (I think they have taken them off now), they were all for gay marriages and phillipino brides. Hehe buzz word related ads crack me up.

Poorly written on my part.

Small guy being the manager of the store having to put up with it.

Not to correct your excellent point, but most if not all insulin is synthetic nowadays. I'm diabetic too, unfortunately.

I also love animals. I think it's a sin when one of them goes to waste, hehe.
My girlfriend eats steak so rare, I told her to tell the waiter to "shoot it in the head, wipe its ass, and serve it to me."

Oh, almost forgot. Alcoholics Anonymous ruined my life. My dad went through it and now he berates me constantly about my drinking. I can't get through to him enough to explain that I get drunk once in a while and he got sober once in a while.

How about that guy, was on the news a while ago, that was protesting American soldiers for no good reason? Sorry can't remember his name, but suffice to say he was a douchebag and started a group (whose name escapes me) that protest soldiers, vets, and anyone associated with the military. If I find his ass I'll PM you the link.

For a lighter point accuse the Greenpeace protesters of using non-biodegradbable boards for writing on. Shame on them!
