The point to parades is to give the minority, who can be controversial 5 minutes of our time and were forced to acknowledge their meeting.

Chrisitanity-Major religon, can't parade
Atheism- Major religon, can't parade or shall i say shouldn't for these to.

all protesters need to die. if you don't like something either, ignore it, do something about it that actually works or kill yourself.

Anonymous. They don't exactly hurt, but they sure as hell do nothing to stop Scientology. All they do is make a bunch of useless and strange YouTube videos. Yarr! Great work, me lads!

Okay my fellow Escapists, I have a research paper to do in Advanced Composition class, and I'm doing it on the various groups who protest and wind up pissing people off than actually helping a cause. I got the two obvious ones, PeTA and Westboro Baptist Church, but I need a few more ideas and i was just hoping that some of you guys would know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
The pro-lifers who bomb abortion clinics.

(Yeah, it sucks, especially when I'm pro-life. They're making me look bad man!)

Oh yeah, try to find a random neo-nazi group who openly protests for their cause. Their very behaviour and dress style is usually very counter-productive, even if you take away what they're saying.

Not nessecarily, from what I understand the Neo-nazi and KKK groups are starting to make somewhat of a comback. (Numberwise that is)
a well place headshot solves everything...shit, did I say that outloud?...I ment, talk to them and try to persuade them to abandon those extremist ideas and accept that everyone has equal rights

While I understand completely that this is a joke, I would like to point out that this is a perfectly good example of exactly what we are discussing here. For your information though, a well placed head shot has a tendency to escalate things instead of end them. World war one for example.

PETA are the ultimate hypocrites. Don't really need to emphasize on how bad they are as it has been explained many times over the internets and on The Escapist. PETA really do sicken me.

Though I really hate whalers so I don't mind when the odd terroristic pirate raids a whaling ship. Hmm.. makes me want to play Darkfall.

PETA, when they decide to be hypocritical...

Vegetarians when they decide to be annoying...

Anti-abortion protesters who commit abortion when they bomb clinics...

P.E.T.A apparently they put down about 4/7 of their animals, so much for protecting them.
4/7? Why such an odd fraction?
Because I Can.

Also one of the main people in P.E.T.A has diabetes, so she uses insulin, a drug that came from animal testing, yet says animal testing is wrong.
PETA for all of the posts above. Yes, I am lazy. So what?

Also anyone who protests violence against them by doing more violence. Did no one in the Middle East learn a damn thing by Gandhi's example? I guess not. Violence begets violence and that is how it will always be.

Now THIS is an animal rights group I can get behind:

http://www.rescueink.org/

I'd pay to see a bar fight between them and PETA...

Not exactly relevant but I get annoyed at petitions I don't agree with and usually piss them off somehow.

Some guy asked me to sign an "Australian troops out of Afghanistan Petition", I asked him where the "put more Australian troops into Afghanistan" was. The look of hatred I got.

I'd check out Penn & Teller's show Bullsh!t. A good handful of their topics are controversial, though they're somewhat biased you could probably hunt down some info from the people/groups they interview.

I don't think so, the death of "Francisco Fernando"(sorry I studied it in spanish so the name is in spanish) was just an excuse to start the war, relations between both countries were really tense because of what had happened in Africa so probably the war would have still happened, but maybe later or on other circumstances, don't you think?¿

Insulin comes from bacteria cultures, not from animals any more.
Yes but It was developed from animal testing, thus she is still being a hypocrite.
The development of insulin producing bacteria cultures does in no way involve animals, it was never even tested on animals because that would've defied the point of using Human DNA.
wrong insulin was created by Frederick Banting and Charles Best by testing it on dogs

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insulin#History

we no longer do heart transplants on monkeys but we tested them on them, same with pacemakers and many other medical research we've done, without animal testing we'd be in the stone age still in regards to medicine

It wasn't created by him, it was discovered in some dog pee and then extracted from dog's pancreases. It's not that bad at all, people have blood extracted from them all the time.

After they had discovered that it was produced in mammalian pancreases, they chose instead to extract it from pigs, as their Insulin is the most genetically similar to humans, making it the least likely to produce an allergic reaction and have a greater effect than canine insulin.

This [http://www.dnai.org/text/mediashowcase/index2.html?id=1021] is how they do it now.

I am a firm advocate of animal testing, but I can say with certainty that Insulin is not extracted from Animals any more, it is far cheaper to culture bacteria that secrete it, and it is produced in far larger and much purer quantities.

PeTA.
PeTA must die, seriously. Fire-Bombing cancer research labs just for the sake of the poor, stupid animals isn't helping.
And then they put down all the animals they saved from the labs...

Go PeTA!

Ooh, I could use this as a nice tidbit in my paper. Where did you find this out?
