Not nessecarily, from what I understand the Neo-nazi and KKK groups are starting to make somewhat of a comback. (Numberwise that is)

That would explain the hostile attitude that a few of my classmates parents have taken to me...
"Your a Mexican!"
"No sir, but I am part Hispanic."
"Fuck you, !"
"Sir, I'm just as American, if not more, than you."
I had to run out of that house as he pulled out a gun and told me to quote: "Get da fuck out of ma house before I blow your Devil Worshiping, Mexican ass up."
How is being an Atheist worshiping the devil?

Do YOU guys have this problem over the seas?
racism sucks ass im part mexican and "native american" and i got told in a daily basis that mexicans should go back to where they came from by not just my "peers" but some teachers as well it sucks living in a small town where most of the people in it are related to each other (and are dating each other too which is gross.) and i told them that they should go back to the UK or Ireland and they told me that "they stole this country fare and square."and then laughed and called me a queer and they are all homophobic, racist, inbreeding bastards.
i hate those people but ive also met people like me in this town that moved here that are different and not related to most of the town.(oh im not gay but i support gay rights because i dont think its wrong and ive got gay and lesbian family members and they are really cool people.)

Jesus man, where do you live? From the sound of it, it sounds like down south, no? Because in the city I live in we have no problem with racial groups at all...
I live in an extremely southern rural area. So yeah you got that right about where I live. And since most of these people most likely think the most advanced thing other than an assault rifle is the television it would make sense that they still live in "the old days" when it comes to mind-set.

Whoa man, I made a simple comment on one of those P&T Bullshit shows about the Boy Scouts and just said that I was in there and agreed with the show mostly. In response I got this comment...
"Let me tell you that the boy scouts DO NOT BLOW. In fact we shun gay kids. I once beat the shit out of a gay kid at summer camp, and no one punished me, just him. Would you like to know what it feels like to be that gay kid? You're asking for it."

That really improves the overall image of the Scouts, doesn't it?
So I guess we can chalk up the scouts.

Gay pride parades - Sorry guys, Making yourselves look like huge freaks and a major nuisance to everyone is NOT gonna make the rest of the world more likely to accept you... It's like rubbing salt in a wound to make it stop burning...
Haha even though I'm gay that's kind of true, but it's not about acceptance so much as general campness. And the whole salt in the wound thing only works if you got injured in the first place... which I'm pretty sure ya didn't.

I remember hearing about a case in Britain about an Animal Rights group (forget which) pretesting against this farm that bred hamsters for scientific research. Whatever your view on the ethics of this, the group continually harassed not just the farmer and the farm workers, but their familys and anyone remotely affiliated to the cause. It ended up with the group exhuming the buried remains of the farmer's mother, and then leaving her in his front garden...
That certainly hurt their cause much more than it helped it...

Okay my fellow Escapists, I have a research paper to do in Advanced Composition class, and I'm doing it on the various groups who protest and wind up pissing people off than actually helping a cause. I got the two obvious ones, PeTA and Westboro Baptist Church, but I need a few more ideas and i was just hoping that some of you guys would know. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Yeah, WBC sucks. I'm a pastor and, frankly, I'm embarrassed by them.

Protest groups that irk people? How about 80% of Hollywood actors and actresses and 100% of Michael Moore?

Okay, I was checking my mail and I found out that this comment...
"wait what? are u actually supporting gay rights? gays are not people, they do not deserve rights. Gays are unholy Freaks of Nature. ALL GAYS SHOULD BURN IN HELL!"
had been used to reply to my other post criticizing the Boy Scout who beat up the kid for being homosexual.
I just sat there in amazement going WTF at the sheer ignorance of these people.

So, I'm assuming you're Neek357? I honestly think that both your posts are wrong about the BSA. I think that people's experiences all depend on what troop you join. I'm an Eagle Scout myself and I had a blast in scouts. We have gay kids, atheist kids, autistic kids, and all sorts of different people. They're treated no differently than any other kids. Some troops are more corrupt than others. It's like generalizing restaurants. They're all different.

Well considering that I also have been in the Boy Scouts, I will admit that yes, excluding atheists, and gays is not always the case.
However, I was mainly targeting how flawed the changes to it are. But since it is the official policy, and that most troops follow such an order then that would mostly mean that I would mostly be excluded. I can remember when I was young what happened when I finally got to actually join them. 3 of the kids dropped out and when I asked them why later at school they usually replied "Because of you" along with the troop leaders always arguing over whether or not I should leave.

It was a nice thing to be in the Scouts and I had hoped to become an Eagle Scout, but eventually they decided against me staying. If given the option, I would gladly join them again, but considering that I would rather avoid such an conflict.... Also its not about them being "corrupt." They are simply just following the higher chain even if they disagree with it.

As for you finding out that I am Neek357 I applaud you.

P.E.T.A apparently they put down about 4/7 of their animals, so much for protecting them.
4/7? Why such an odd fraction?
Because I Can.

Also one of the main people in P.E.T.A has diabetes, so she uses insulin, a drug that came from animal testing, yet says animal testing is wrong.
I can't be sure, but I think insulin is harvested from horses! Which would make her even more of a hypocrite.

Gay parades. I do not have problems with gays. Most people don't. So be gay all you want BUT don't rub it into our faces. Do they really think that a thousand of them dressed in womens' clothes flooding the capital city is helping their cause?

What are those seafaring folk who are basically considered a pirate organization? I forget what they're called.
The sea sheperd, a group of people who go around trying to stop whaling and seal hunting and stuff by ramming ships and illegally boarding them. If they weren't an environmental organisation they would be considered terrorists and locked up. I don't think they help their cause any by going so overboard with their tactics.
Actually their cause is to stop illegal whaling and since the Australian government won't do anything about it, the crew of the sea shepard are the only people that are helping their own cause.
There is no illegal whaling that SSCS are trying to stop. Japan, Russia, and most of Scandinavia LEGALLY hunt whale.
Watson is just a fat fuck egomaniac that thinks he is right.
I want to tie him to an rope, harpoon a whale, and watch him get dragged under.

Yes. If you've examined some of my earlier posts, the ones talking about America I do express a want to move away from America. I just never really explained why. As long as I didn't lose any limbs I'd just rather let them rot in their own holes.
Could try Mexico. See what everyone there wants to run from, and illegally come here too.

You make some good points there. I personally can't argue against it because the only troop that I have enough experience in is my own. But I agree that it's bullshit that they kick people out like that unless they're causing a massive problem. I think the man council should be heavily revised in order to make in open for anyone who wants to join, not just straight Christian people.

Surprised to see no one brought up ELF or ALF. Militant hippies are really annoying. Can't wait for the ol government to crack down on these jackasses. Spike a tree on my property, and I'm going to shoot your unwashed patchouli smelling ass!
Militant hippies? that sounds almost like an oxymoron!
