Yea would tend to agree that games these days dont have the same replayability. Still love some of my old ps1/ps2 games like:

Crash Team Racing-best cart game ever?
Final Fantasy 7-just the best.
Ape Escape-so much fun.
All the ps1 crash bandicoots acutally too
Final Fantasy 10-beaufiful...
Timesplitters-all of them but especially 2

actually too many to count..^^

Timesplitters 2.
I really wish I still had it instead of TS3.

I want to find Metal Gear Solid 3 cheap to play again before I ditch the system as well.

Thanks for agreeing, haha :)

FF7, is it as immersive as FFX?

Also, people saying a lot about Timesplitters, whats it like?

My suggestions, in no particular order:

Sly Cooper series (PS2, 3 games)
Ape Escape series (1 game for the PS1, 2 for PS2)
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS2)
The 3 original Spyro games (PS1. If you see a Spyro game for the PS2, steer WAY clear!)
Steambot Chronicles (PS2)
Psychonauts (PS2)
Final Fantasy VI - IX, especially IX (PS1)
Okami (PS2)

And I must mention, as I always do, the original Grandia (PS1). It tends to crash sometimes when played on a PS2, but if you can live with this, you're in for a treat you'll never forget!

Gran Turismo 3 and 4 (even if they were just racing games
Grand Theft Auto III, San Andreas, and everything in between
Devil May Cry 1 and 3

I think the PS2 survival horror games tend to rock as well. Rule of Rose, Haunting Ground, and Siren come to mind.

GTA III and San Andreas
Crash Bandicoot Karting
Spyro 1,2
Burnout 3: Takedown
And all the FIFA games (I like Football too much).

Some of the obvious choices are the first two God of War games, Shadow of the Colossus, and Okami; the latter is still my favorite game of all time for the PS2. I'd also definitely go with the Jak and Daxter series.
YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES

Okami is just my favourite thing ever. You have everything, great art style, interesting gameplay, emotional story...

Guh, I will never stop loving Okami.

I have to agree with you on the poor re-playability now-a-days. I still pull out my Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for my Super NES, yet Halo 3 sits on my shelf staring at me with its not-used-in-a-long-time new-age eyes.

I would highly suggest Champions of Norrath. Okami, Shadow of the Colossus (though sometimes it gets repetitive,) God of War, Prince of Persia, the Spyro series, Legend of Dragoon... they're all excelent games for old PS you can play over and over again! Oh and Soul Calibur 2 is excellent.

Play, for PS1:
-MGS1
-Silent Hill 1
-Chrono Trigger
-Chrono Cross
-Spiderman 1+2

For PS2:
-Devil May Cry(high replay value)
-Shadows of the Colossus
-MGS2+MGS3

All I can think of for the moment
I'm gonna definitely buy Shadow of the Collosus now, like half the posts have said that game :}

Metal Gear Solid 3

I'd recommend the limited edition Subsistence re-release but they are quite hard to find + more expensive though the 3D camera makes it much more user friendly to gamers who are not so used to classic MGS controls (the camera always points north).
but yeah, it is a really original MGS game and has great re-playability especially with increasing difficulty, all the camo unlocks, easter eggs and hidden weapons and special items. No alternate ending though :( Overall I'd say it's the second best MGS game next to the original MGS1. It also has a fun mini-game based on Ape Escape.

Resident Evil Code: Veronica-X

Hmm, don't have a Dreamcast? Well the PS2 version is just as good and could be considered the last "classic" Resident Evil game before RE4 and RE5 when all third-person-shooter, RE4 is still one of my all time fav games but I like the classic Resident Evil (you can find more of that on Gamecube with the RE1 remake plus Resident Evil Zero*). not so much re-playability though but it's a fairly long game with all the puzzles and intrigue and separate intertwining story-lines.

Red Dead Revolver

LOVED this game and especially the spaghetti western feel, it also is good for re-playability as you keep weapons + money from 1st playthrough where almost certainly you have not reached level cap in one playthrough.

I'd also recommend the Tomb Raider games but you're better off getting them on PC or 360 than PS2.

*RE4 is best played on Gamecube BTW and with HUGE replay value as you keep weapons, money and unlocks every time you complete and re-play a game. Gamecube consoles are dirt cheap, get one with a Component (RGB) cable and play on a HDTV... quality overall I'd put as in between 6th gen and Current Gen. VERY worth and and sorry I know this is a PS2 thread.

Apart from some of the extremely great ones already listed i have to say Persona 3 and 4, in that order.
Not that much of a replay value but they're epic experiences even for just one playthrough.

I absolutly love Oden Sphere, Played through it at least 4 times and will continue to anytime I want an awsome story.

I also like the Atlelier Iris series, all three are absolutly amazing games, and their spiritual successor Mana Khemia wasn't bad either.

All of these are RPGs FYI, One by Vanillawear and the others by NIS :)
