GT5, Uncharted 1 and 2, LBP, MGS4, Heavy Rain, MAG, and BluRay all say you should go ahead and pick up a PS3.

Yep. I have a PC, and Heavy Rain is the only reason I'd buy a PS3.

B... BUT THE PLOT IS RETARDED!

Ah, who cares? It's still an amazing experience.

Tell you what, how about I bring the game to Ireland?

OT: Sure, get a PS3. It's awesome-sauce.

I have both, and I use both, and I love them both. If you have the money to spare, I would get one.

The only problem you'll have is deciding which games to buy. There are so many games to play if you have both, and they all seem to come at the same damn time.

It's alot more expensive then a 360 BUUUUUUT it can be used as command center if used right.
The exclusives are pretty alright, only one that's properly tempted me has been heavy rain so far.
Just disc loading times are supposed to be a minor annoyance... I play monster hunter so it probably wouldn't phase me XD

It's finally come into it's own. I bought one recently and haven't turned on my 360 since. I just like my ps3.

Since this post is already full of conjecture and opinion perhaps you should form your own opinion. You don't need PS3 fanboys to tell you that it's good, you need to decide that for yourself.

Ultimately since they dropped the price it's a much better value, but I think the real question you should ask yourself is whether you want two game systems to try and keep up with.

That and the possibility of a remake of SHADOW OF THE MOTHERF*CKING COLOSSUS (and Ico)
Also, some games seem to run better on a PS3 rather than their XBox 360 counterparts, the online service is free, and you get a BluRay player.
I'd say it's worth it

I think it's worth it. I use the xbox for 1st person + 3rd person shooters, I use the playstation for action/adventure + RPG games and I use the PC for RTS games.

in my opinion ps3 has much better exclusives with uncharted, killzone 2, littlebigplanet, motorstorm, ratchet and clank, heavy rain etc,
uses blu-ray discs so you dont get games needing 2 or more discs, and is itself one of sonys best blu-ray players,
plus everything you have to pay extra for in xboxs like wireless network adaptors, rechargeable controllers - you have to pay for a play and charge kit on xbox just to recharge - free online service, much more reliable hardware that doesnt burn rings into discs that the xbox has a nasty habbit of doing, the list goes on and on
i summarize by saying playstation is like singapore airlines, and xbox is like ryanair, yeah its much cheaper but to get it up to the standard of singapore airlines you have to pay through the nose

I own a 360 for about a year now, and i bought the ps3 just a few days ago.
I haven't actually played a full game yet, but judging by the ps store demos, there are a lot of great games for the ps3 and you shouldn't forget that you can watch blu rays with it.
A list of games which demos i thought was awesome:
-Uncharted 1&2
-Valkyria Chronicles
-Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1&2 (sigma=better versions of the xbox&xbox 360 game)
-inFamous

Also, God of War 3 and Metal Gear Solid are still the same old games, so if you've played the previous titles on the ps2 and liked them, you can add them to the list.

Another nice thing is, that if you're downloading stuff in the background, you can run the ps3 folding@home programm while you're waiting.

So i'd say, it's worth buying one.

Offtopic:
I guess i'll be getting Killzone 2 soon for the multiplayer, if any ps3 user wants to add me and give me a nice start, my psn name is:

I found it worth it. Only thing I've ever wanted from X-box is Mass Effect, and I've pretty much gone off the idea by playing Dragon Age until I'm near-coma.

Well, for one thing, ps3 exclusives are exclusive, whereas 360 ones usually are also available for PC or sometimes even just come out for the PS3. Which is why I always tell people, if you have a gaming PC and want a console as well, buy a ps3.

I bought (well, got) a PS3 pretty much just for Final Fantasy XIII (and yes, I know it is on 360 too, but there is no way I'm buying a 360). Heavy Rain, well, it looked boring as hell. So, then I downloaded the demo, and it was in fact boring as hell. I have no clue what is so incredibly amazing about walking around really slow with crappy camera angles, bad voice acting, and QTE's that you can't even tell apart sometimes.

Yes, I have had my 360 for a few years and just got one and love all the single player games for PS3. Personally, I can't stand playstation controllers, so I don't spend too much time playing it. But I love Little Big Planet, Uncharted 2 (was AMAZING!) and MGS4. Plus, the Blu-ray player is a major plus! But don't listen to anyone about the weak internet capability. It sucks.

What? A lot more expensive? No, the base consoles are the same price, but the PS3 won't keep charging you every month.

I can't say I've noticed anything about slow load times except maybe CoD MW2 campaign is about a minute load times, but the briefings are longer so it's no biggie. And many games install on the HD which basically reduces the load times to nill.

OP: Yes, if you can afford the $300 then do it for sure. There's a lot of good games on PS3, depends what you like but I recommend Uncharted 2 and Demon's Souls, plus God of War 3 soon. Oh and if you plan to get FF XII, it's better on PS3 (one disc instead of 3, and IGN review says it plays a little smoother)

Also, it has sharper textures, an hd resolution and full hd cutscenes.

Well, the XMB on my newly bought slim is kinda extremely slow

The way I work is that most XBOX "exclusives" tend to end up coming out on PC; so between my mac (running windows) and a Playstation, I have access to virtually every game released. So yes, a playstation is definitely worth it.
