HAHAHAHAHAHHA

seriously?? you seriously are saying that there are "less" hackers on PC???? if that was sarcasm i seriously missed it, everybody knows that PC games are the most hacked games, hell i can put "hack black ops" on google and it will show 5 hits for the PC version and 2 or 3 VIDEOS of how the hack works on the console, then i would need to digg deeper to find the hacks for the consoles

its just not true and in the "Console VS PC" battle (which i find certainly dumb) that has always one of the main points of console gameing, the lack of hackers.
I've got over 150 hours played on CoD4 on the PC and I've seen hackers, sure. They just get kicked from the server in a matter of seconds. True, the admins aren't always on but I can switch servers.

Sony you better get your act together soon.

Poor Myspace
Wow it has been so long I can't remember my login info for MySpace in order to delete it. I checked it and now you can login through Facebook. How sad is that. Like going to Toyota for repairs and them giving you a Honda as a loaner car.

Dedicated Servers with admin rights would just sort the whole thing, done.
this isn't about in game cheaters as its more about alteration of information (account modding) dedicated servers will do nothing if whatever is stat tracking is hacked.

Plus do they have client side (public) dedicated server on consoles at all? o_O
True...

No, they dont, not for the 360, or the PS3 I dont think.
I think for the Ps3 it depends on the developers. I believe some games do have dedicated servers, like Warhawk, but most companies just go with their own servers. That's how MGS4 got it's own separate online entity that you needed an entirely new login for (boy, the lag was horrible).
Boarderlands has personal servers running for their multiplayer. You can host or join an adventure and who ever hosts has the ability to boot a user. It is far from dedicated, but I have a feeling things like that will end up being commonplace before true dedicated servers on consoles.

oh, rigth, but you fail to realize that the games have changed, there are no longuer "Dedicated Servers" so its a shame

but your argument acually was laughable, because you´ll see that in history, Hackers have being universal in PC, while in Consoles were (up till the new generation) inexistant in multiplayer.

but well, thats how i see it.

The hacks weren't only abundant on the PS3. The 360 is as bad a case, but at least MS acts on the hackers to a certain extent. Either way, hacks weren't the only problem the game had, so I see little point in pointing fingers at "teh haxx0rzz".

It takes time to generate good homebrew. It doesn't take nearly as long to pirate software.

You shouldn't support Sony because they brought this entirely upon themselves. They removed a console feature that the hackers, specifically, paid for. The entire reason most of them purchased a PS3 in the first place was because OtherOS gave them access to far more processing power (at the time) than they could purchase in a PC for the same price.

None of the involved parties, just like the original PSP homebrew community, are interested in piracy. They do know that they've opened that door, but they don't care - the DRM was simply a roadblock, to regaining the features they had already paid for, that they were forced to bypass in order to keep other features of the console up to date.

Had Sony not placed that roadblock, the individuals with the knowledge to bypass it never would have bothered.

To give you another example:
Imagine, if you will, that you have an entirely software-controlled vehicle (which is not much of a stretch, really). You've purchased the vehicle with the understanding that it has a climate control system and radio. Now imagine that, several years later, the company which sold you the car decides that they're no longer going to allow you to access the air conditioning, nor are they going to allow you to listen to the radio - because they feel that those features use too much energy, are slightly reducing gas mileage, and are making the company look bad.

Are you going to care that, in order to bypass the system and regain access to the air conditioning and radio, you'll also have to bypass the limiter that prevents the car from doing 200mph?
Didn't they remove the feature in fear of pirates?

Having played on both PSN and XBL, I have noticed that there seems to be a LOT more hacks happening on PSN, hence the reason I stick with XBL.
Sorry Sony.
Weird, I've noticed the opposite.

But regardless, console hacking sucks because then it just makes the game no fun. :(

Ah, someone was telling me about the hackers being abundant on the PS3. Thank god I have it on PC.
Oh I see what you did there...
I fucking wish people would stop saying that fucking meme to me. I haven't seen many hackers stay on a server for more than 10 minutes throughout my long time playing CoD4 on the PC.

It's because you're lucky, be happy. FPS games were practically designed for hacking and so the PC version might as well be a cake with a room full of hungry people and one guy standing there threatening to kill anyone that touches the cake...sure he might get 2 or 3 but it doesn't help...

What are you talking about? The reason why I refuse to play MW2 on the PC is because of the crazy amount of hacking, particularly with how abundant they are on servers with no kill cams so they're not as easy to catch.

That and trying to get into a game is like trying to force your genitals into an open flame.

While I don't own a PS3 or MW2/CoD4, I can back up the fact that Call of Duty gets hacked to hell. Screw 81923523 rounds survived on Der Riese. I really is a problem.
If it's the PC version, that's the dev console. Usually people will tell you "ammocheat" but it isn't hacking because the hosts are the ones controlling it. It is annoying, but totally avoidable.

PSN doesn't have much going for it in the first place (which is why I usually stick to single player), so Sony really needs to step up their game, so to speak.

I said it the moment I read about the guy who hacked the PS3 and I'll say it again:
"Dick move" risk millions of dollars in damages just so you can tell game companies "My e-penis is MASSIVE! You should hire me!" Fuck that guy.
