If you get MGS4 (and I recommend you do) then download the MGS Encyclopedia off the PSN (if it's still there). Even if you've played and memorised every other game in the series you'll need a refresher course. If you don't know the games its compulsory reading. The good thing is after you complete MGS4 it unlocks info about that game in the encyclopedia (so no spoilers). That way you can find out what the hell happened in the last 10 hours of plot.

Ratchet and Clanks on ps3 may appear childish to those who havent played them, but recently i talked my friend into getting the latest one he said its the most fun hes had on a game in ages, great characters and story, genius puzzles and huge guns, amazing

also uncharted 2 is fantastic
if you get inFamous and complete it youll be just in time to get excited about the second one coming out soon
same about killzone 2, my favourite shooter on ps3, and the 3rd one out soon

Little Big Planet. It's the best AAA Playsation Exclusive, also I thought as borderline racist as the whole franchise is Uncharted 2 was a blast. Other than that provided you've not already got these on X-Box; Arkham Asylum, Red Dead Redemption, Saints Row 2.

uncharted 1 and 2 are good games. if you cant find any game you like always try the psn. it has alot of old games and a lot of new games that are creative and fun.

Demon's Souls. Best console-exclusive RPG this generation and one of the best games I've ever played.

You should also buy Vanquish when it comes out this October.

inFAMOUS. Don't you dare miss out on inFAMOUS. Once you get that, there are plenty of other good games you can choose from. I would recommend Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank and God of War 3.

Get onto the PS network and download jumping flash 1 & 2 from the old PSone. You play as a robot rabbit trying to save various holiday spots from a mad scientist. the hook is that it's a first person platformer. now that may not have worked well for mirrors edge but this game solves it by making the enviroments huge and then gives you the ability to jump several dozen feet into the air.

I can vouch for Demon's Souls. It's devilishly hard to pronounce, but it's really good and very challenging.

I'm a much bigger fan of the original Disgaea -- hence the avatar -- than I was of the second or third. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to its predecessor enough for me to warrant calling it a "must-have" title for the PS3 when I can easily think of two titles that were significantly more enjoyable for me. ^_^

Uncharted 1 & - Smooth, polished, and a blast to play. I'm playing through the first one now and it feels like you're in a great action movie.

Killzone 2 - Highly immersive FPS that is so chaotic you won't believe your eyes when you first play it.

Resistance - Fascinating story, fun gameplay, and a great health system (combines a health bar and regeneration)

I also picked up Folklore at a used bin at blockbuster and it's really quite a fun game. Not a "must" but certainly a treat for a PS3 exclusive.

I don't have a PS3 but some of their console exclusive games look good, most notably God of War...looks a lot more fun than 360's GoW...which was alright but I got bored of it.

After GoW2's fight with Scourge (or whatever that thing was called with the chainsaw-spear), I think that Cliffy B played a little too much God of War.
