Anyway, OP reply. I work at an electronic retailer, Recently had a customer with similair problems. We sent it off to repairs via our shop to Sony, repair time was 8 weeks, it was free of charge, she got an original model back with full functionality and a 50 euro giftcard because it took so long. There was a bit of a hickup when Sony came with a bill but we sorted that out, EU economic life gives you right to a compensation outside of warranty and the compensation almost nullified the cost, and customer service at Sony nulled the bill because of the long wait. The giftcard came from us though.
Sounds like an early model. They actually have allot more functionality then the newer ones like playing PS2 games.The_Healer said:
