haha i have a hard time believing it has anything to do with the redesign, and a lot more with the price reduction. they finally drop the price and people buy the console. go figure, only every industry analyst has been saying this since i can remember
You sir would be one hundred percent correct.
While I do personally love the redesign (fits snugly beneath my flat screen), the price drop caused me to buy one up so fast I think I saw burn marks from the friction of yanking out my wallet to pay for it.

While I realize some of these aren't console exclusive (nor was I trying to say they are) and I also realize some of these aren't even awesome games (but entertaining in their own right regardless) I was still able to locate something like 38 games to put on the list that Iv'e either played demo's for or found considerable interest in.
Since the release of the Slim I have put more hours into my PS3 than my 360 (which I've owned for as long as the Jasper version has been out). The problem I have with the 360 is I can use its controller on my PC and my PC blows the console out of the water specs wise. It's not a bad system and I'm not trying to relate them. But overall I've been very please with this purchase.
Plus not having to deal with "points" in the online store is great. I can't stand the "It's only 800 points" instead of a straight dollar amount.
People who hate sony are going to continue hating sony, people who hate any company likely will continue to do so, but overall as a (hopefully) mostly neutral bystander I have to say I'm happy they finally got their head at least up to their ears out of their ass.
PS. I do agree (personally) that Killzone 2 was pretty damn inferior to anything anyone told me about it. I played it at a friends and got Halo syndrome. (Halo Syndrome is the effect where someone tells you a FPS is awesome to the max and you play it to find yourself just playing another run of the mill FPS that still isn't as entertaining as FPS's you've owned for a decade or more).
