I edited above, I called my local EB and was told that they expect it to be $499 for PS4 and $599 for XBone. Not 100% official but they did say keep an eye on the website so fingers crossed. If it is $499 I'm preordering on Thursday.

Good news? Maybe, it's in the hands of the publishers now... We know some of the big publishers are desperate to try and restrict or stop used games, so what happens if they decide to throw in support for the Xbone and leave the PS4 in the dust?

The PS4 could end in up hole with Nintendo and have to try and survive on first party titles and whatever bones EA and the others throw Sony's way.

I miss being able to dvr the whole E3 off of G4. I'm still getting caught up on everything, but this...this right here makes me smile.

Both in joy that a scion of my consoles of choice is easily winning before the war even starts, and in cruel sadistic glee at how XBOX is dying.

Normally I just have a general disinterest in xbox news and games, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that has been pulled into their shenanigans of late with their self crippling announcements.

Sure, I bet that M$ could swallow their pride and renege all of their damning truths about how they plan to run gaming into the ground and kill off rentals etc. and drop their price to undercut Sony. They do have deep pockets, how else do you think that in the face of overwhelming negative opinions would any dev in their right mind be psyched about making XBone exclusives at this point?

But they won't. They invested too much money to do the sane thing and fix their shit this gen. They will be lucky to have another one.

As long as Sony keeps its head out of its ass, it wins by default. I can only imagine the time and money wasted strategizing and planning on how to beat the rumored new M$ console wasted because M$ decided to lay down with their head on the block telling its customers to fuck off.

All Sony needed to do was, essentially nothing. Anything above that is just the cherry on top.

That's going to be a blow to Microsoft. One huge, terrible, painful blow. Doesn't change the fact that I don't want any of the exclusives and won't be buying it, but, still. Ouch. Super ouch.

Agreed looks like Microsoft will be doing some retooling of their console soon. I found nothing sony showed to be interesting at all but they are really doing their best on every other front. Its a change of pace to see Sony shelve its arrogance.

Trouble is that it only seem to be EA that really want that (who were actually absent from Sony conference), has you had other major publisher (Ubisoft, Activision, SquareEnix) actually do a better presentation at Sony conference then Microsoft.

Now to all those that said the PS4 would do the same crap as the XBone and cost $600, what have you got to say for yourselves?

I'll admit, I was one of those people. The way things have been going lately can you blame me? Sony was the one that made online pass standard on all their 1st party games.

It was good to see Jack Trenton not only be explicit (repeatedly) this time but he was just smugly twisting the knife after a while. Still not buying a ps4 (not at launch at least) but that almost made me want to.
A little worried about Plus being required for online.

Update, just checked EB site and it says $549, so alittle over what it should be considering the XBone is $599, but still not too bad. I'm gonna preorder but keep an eye on any release pack/deals they come around between now and release.
