Moore's Law and the ten year plan say that it'll be 32 times as powerful as the PS3.

Dreaming? Are you serious? Compare the sixth and the seventh generation (the current) of consoles.

For example, the PS2 had 32MB (yes, 32 freakin' MB) of RDRAM, and 4MB of Video RAM.
The PS3 has 2x256MB. How many times bigger is that? 16 times.

Now, let's take the current generation...512x16. That makes about 8GB of RAM.
The other things sound equally as plausible, looking at the advancements made with previous generations.

The PS4 will be a big black box with a hole in it with a sign that says "give us money, we don't care about you" and a Sony employ will come around every month to see how many people were actually stupid enough to do it.

This just in, Sony's stocks rise 50%!

Don't forget with better graphics and (hopefully) bigger games, they would take up more memory. Hence, consoles will start to require more memory.

3D GAMES!!!!!!!!

even though the technology is hardly mass-produced yet. still years away. LED TVs are the new craze, 3D TVs will probably be next, and then 3D gaming.

And why the hell would a console need a terabyte of space? Not even PC users can easily fill that much.
It's amazing what Porn can do harddrive filling wise.

My brother's and I have filmed a half-terrabyte. Our PS3 is a media center, not just gaming.
See.

Though I noticed it is called a "media center" instead of "porn emporium" ;).

Of course. An important distinction to make, in order to prevent social awkwardness.
I didn't think you could come up with a classy response to my comment but you proved me wrong! :p
A challenge made and a challenge met! =D

A terabyte of hard drive space for a console. Whatever next...?
Saves with lots more variables (just think about sandbox games in which the world gets randomly generated when you start a new game and evolves while playing), meaning bigger save files.
I don't think so actually. If you look at the increase in the size of games when you install them(the minimum now must be about 8GB, with many 10 or over) over the years compared to the increase in size of save files, it's barely noticeable. For TFU it's still only 320kb needed for a save.

Of course TFU isn't comparable to a forever randomised sand box, but then again a save won't be the thing that controls what is randomised. A save surely just 'remembers' data, it doesn't alter it or have anything change in the process of the data being saved.

Saves will never be that much of a problem in my opinion, even if my entire last paragraph was wrong (I'm not an expert on saves, sorry guys) from what you can see today, with games being up 25GB in size (GTA IV) and saves still being in the kb section, there's nothing to worry about. And certainly no need for that terabyte hard drive on the next Playstation or Xbox.
How many of these small save games have to put all the variable which make up a randomly generated planet-sized (or in a later state galaxy-sized) sandbox maps, with possibly over 10 billion A.I. controlled NPCs in their save files?(None right now I think, due to processors still being unable to handle 10 billion complex A.I. threads at the same time fast enough.)
Like I said, I by no means no anything to do with this specifically. I was just saying that comparatively, the growth of the amount of space required to store an entire game has increased massively, but despite this save game files are still very small.
