Glad they put in dual analog sticks though.
RTFA

I like my PSP, but the feature list of the PSP2 just blows ass and seems to be typical of Sony's lack of personal hardware identity and desperate "me too" strategy.
Cell processor
Great, now the PSP2 will be able to be as average and mediocre as the PS3!! Now, don't get me wrong, I do own a PS3 so I'm not fanboying this, I just know damned well that that cell processor did the PS3 absolutely no favors.
two cameras/ touch-enabled display
Right, cause those totally made the Nintendo DS an incredibly awesome gaming device that wasn't loaded down with 20 metric tons of shovelware and gimmicky titles.
A plan to include 3G wireless connectivity in the device is still on the table
Yay, even more useless hardware cluttering up the internals of the PSP2 and driving the cost of it up. What the hell is this even for? The PSP is not a smartphone, an iPhone killer, a PDA, a netbook or anything else that a 3g connection would be useful for. On the go gaming? Nope, don't even bother. The lag is gonna blow ass (I should know, I've tried with a 3g aircard). Besides, on a personal note, there is no 3g where I live, so not only is this feature pointless, it's also totally useless to me!

What the hell is so wrong about just making a handheld gaming device that is just a handheld gaming device with some buttons and maybe some analog sticks with the most battery efficient, yet powerful hardware they can manage? Yanno, kind of like the PSP1. That thing is pretty fun despite some minor flaws like the lack of the 2nd analog stick.

I guess my biggest question is when the hell is Sony going to get its dick out of Nintendo's dessert? Sony needs to stop trying to be a shitty Nintendo clone and find a gimmick of its own to pimp.
Hey, here's a thought, why not, yanno, work on transforming the PS3 into even more of a low end computer? Add all sorts of common computer task stuff and work on improving on the convergence of desktops and consoles. A console that can completely take over the role of being a low end budget PC? I bet that thing would do great. Hell, Sony even has its own line of production software it could offer to PS owners at a discount to encourage sales. But no, Sony is too busy screwing itself and vainly just trying to be some sort of weird Playstation/Wii hybrid shitbox.

But yeah, the PSP2, fuck that thing. I'm buying myself an Open Pandora when it becomes available again. At least it was designed by people who aren't morons.

To be honest, I bought a psp for $30, just so I can play emulators on it and use as a mp3 player. Never bought a psp game for it, also because for the fact the umd drive was kinda broken..But I cracked the screen and I refuse to pay $50 for a replacement when I could put in $30 for a better condition used system

Won't be picking this up. I'll just find another cheap psp when this comes out.

But I already bought a new psp. Oh well. The design they have as I see it is fine but if they want to improve that cool. Didn't see a umd insert spot in that picture though. I'm sure they will have it. Thanks for the heads up. Now I just need to find friends who like using psps and tell them about it.

To be fair, the PSP 3000 has a camera attachment. Not that anyone uses it. But like others say, I'm holding out to see what games come out for it.

The control sticks are above the buttons, that seems like a bad idea considering what gamers are used to.
*sigh*

The camera idea was stupid on the DSi anyways.

Looks like they finally brightened up enough to put two analogue sticks in, but they're in very awkward positions. being place too high, and over the other buttons on the controller. You could very easily hit the face buttons or D-Pad while trying to steer.
No no, that's a fanmade mockup (the last line of the article says that). Dual-analog sticks have not yet been confirmed. Keep your fingers crossed!
The pictures are of a fanmade mockup, people!
You're talking to internet posters, you can't expect much alot of the time. :p

I really don't like how low the X and so on buttons are on that thing. It looks like I'd be a little uncomfortable playing that way at first. The cameras on hand-helds gimmick is kinda pointless to me, and I never use the ones in my DSi. Other than that, I just hope they'll have a decent library set up for it soon after the launch.

I think it will be a very forward thinking device, like the PS3. The PS3 had Blu-Ray, HDMI, built-in wireless, bluetooth, and other features straight out of the box almost 5 years ago. Now, to us, those things are normal. Back then, we all thought Sony was insane. I believe this device will be built for the long haul, and made to compete with things like the iPod and Droid. I believe it will be all digital download, lots of memory, rediculously powerful, completley wireless, and have things built in for use down the line.

*yawn* same stupid rumors I hear every other month, I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen that user created picture before too, and it's such a hideous design. I have no doubt Sony is in the works of creating a successor to the PSP but I don't buy some of these features.

And to all the whiners out there about the dual analogue stick, it's bound to be in the next PSP considering Sony mentioned that they considered adding a second stick to the Go when it was being made but opted to leave it out. So it's a given that it will have 2 sticks just to shut people up about it already.

Regardless if these features are true or not, hardware alone won't sway me into buying it. I certainly hope they will have a good selection of games for it and hopefully not start off as slow as the PSP. And please god, have SOME sort of backwards compatibility, it could be a UMD drive add on for all I care. I just want to be able to play my regular PSP games on the go still while still having access to their newer games.

I think it's a waste of resources. If they were smart they'd focus on getting better games on the ps3.

Admit that they're wrong, let the DS make the money and focus on making better stuff for a superior console like the ps3.

My PSP sits on my shelf collecting dust. I wish they'd just let this average console go.

My Two Cents.
