I'm resisting the urge to tear up in rage at the derision in that comment, and hoping against hope that it is meant with satirical intent, because otherwise I could be in trouble within my next post.

If I were older than 16 and had a credit card, you bet your ass I would be signing up for this. As it stands now, I doubt I'll be able to convince my parents to do this for me. I want to support the Escapist though, really I do.

Y'know what? I dunno. All the bad experiences I've had with "donations for MASSIVE extras" really didn't work out well.. Plus I never really frequented The Escapist forums due to idiotic and spammy video comments, not exactly discussing the video per se like the LRR forums do.. But eh, I can give it a shot, at least try and get to know those that put the effort in to support a site they love.

It is worth noting that this website is called 'The Escapist Magazine'. Therefore, if we judge it as a magazine, a subscription model is completely logical.
I get far more content on a daily basis then I would from a normal magazine per month. So rather than paying $80 a year for a subscription to a magazine with less content, I'm paying $20 to support one of the best sites on the web.
Hell, I'd pay $20 a month just to watch LRR and read Shamus Young's column and comic.
I completely understand the annoyance of a few vocal LRR fans. We did used to get HD content for free. But they weren't making a lot of money back then. This is a chance to help them (and the Escapist as a whole) to give us more of what we love.
What could possibly be bad about that?
