Question which must be answered: Will the premium features be affected if my account gets suspended/banned/deleted?
Not unless you do something so terrible that we actually have to disable your account completely. That's very very rare though. Posting porn would do it, for example.

Publisher's Club members don't get any special reprieve from moderation though. All normal rules still apply.

While your argument is mostly correct in theory, there is no site on the internet today, not even the IGNs of the world, that have a 100% fill rate all of the time. Meaning, 100% of the ad inventory is always sold. Though, I must admit, it'd sure be nice to have that "problem" here at The Escapist. Even if it does make my life rather hellish. :)
I'm just saying, advertisers are less likely to work with sites with lower success rates and less ad views means less revenue from that source. If I wind up being right about the losses, I want Russ to buy me a puppy.

Question though if this changes my mind: Do you still retain the benefits IE: Custom Username Title or the badge for that matter?
When the subscription ends the title goes away, but the badge stays.

Damnit, I really am in two minds about this.

This is a great site and the people who work for/on it really do deserve support for it. I completely support the idea.

On the other hand I can go ages without posting due to commitments, new games etc. and sometimes get annoyed enough at people on the forums to consider leaving them permanently.

I have until the 21st to decide if I want the snazzy deal it seems.

The Escapist has provided me with interesting articles and entertaining videos for a long time now, so I gladly opted in for this. I'm looking forward to watching new videos in high quality.

Please note that no one is losing anything due to the Publisher's Club subscription service, but those that are classy enough to sign up will gain a more enjoyable experience at The Escapist!
See, this is what would have been the main concern for me. Despite supporting this site and loving it to bits, I won't be joining the Publisher's Club, purely for two reasons.

1. I can't afford it, given that I can barely afford a standard social life as well on top of living costs and stuff whilst at university.

2. The extra stuff, aside from private forums and contests, doesn't really interest me that much.

However, I reckon this is a really good idea. I may possibly join eventually, but not at the moment. But I do agree with all of this. At the end of the day, Themis Media is a business, and needs to make money. And online advertising just doesn't always cut it. Anything that can help get more revenue for the company is good provided it doesn't kick the customers in the balls, and that would be a oncern for me. But those who don't join aren't losing out, as you say, so I support this 100% :D.

I may sign up. To support the Escapist. I don't think I'd do the custom title or display the badge though, I'd feel corrupt then.

Well for all the amount of laughs and good reads the Escapist has provided (plus a nice community), Priveledges aside I think I owe Escapist this money.

I've never been on Amazon.com before, why do I have to join that to subscribe for the premuim membership thing?
Because we don't want your credit card info, and Amazon is a trustworthy major retailer who happens to offer a nice third-party payment system. The other option was PayPal, but we don't like using them for various reasons.
As much as you don't like PayPal, I feel it has a similar position in the world of online payment as Steam has with PC games (i.e. some people use them and them alone).

But they don't like PayPal either! This is very bothersome since I lack online-compatible credit cards.

Also regarding your special publisher club contests. Do note that those contests may not leave people outside the US in the dark. Previous contests did that frequently if I recall correctly.

Ok if you guys don't like Paypal. can I mail you cash, or basically anything else. I'm in the position where I really don't want to register either my bank account or credit card with another internet payment system.
so I have this money sitting next to me and no way to get it to y'all. which makes for some very sad money....
