imo Unreal Tournament (the original one) was a better than Quake 3...

in fact i'd go so far as to say it was one of the best games i ever played.

did you have to bring that up? we already had the discussion 10 years ago and decided that whatever your friends played was better.

Yeah, seemed like a somewhat biased video to me. Personally, I think over the last few games the COD series has almost perfected their own particular style, and I quite like the multiplayer. I still prefer battlefield as a 'warfare simulator', but COD wins as a simple team game, I reckon.

In that video, all I could think was 'Wow, it looks fucking impossible to hit things or to get around without banging into walls'. Way to fast for my taste as well.

Sorry. Not my thing.

Agreed, I thought Quake3 was far too much of a run-and-gun game, testing reaction times rather than aiming skill. Unreal Tournament was so much more, especially the assault modes. Even on the humble Dreamcast it was a great game.

Perhaps if the idiot in the video did more than sit in the corner, he might enjoy the game more. Or is that just me.

That whole bouncy feel of Quake & UT never really clicked with me, I prefer the more grounded visceral feel of the CoD games.

When you add to that perks, achievements, more guns and of course, way better graphics... Quake 3 isn't even in the same league as BlOps.
