I mean I have a problem spending 30 dollars on a game thats hard enough to find so I doubt I would ever spend money on a game in the range of 30,000 dollars. But then again Im no collector and I can see if they were.

lets say i have some money built up.

On one hand, i could spend it on some high priced video game that i woulden play and just try to use it to make more money.

On the other, i have a girlfriend that would cut somthing off of me if i spent that much money on said game.

im going to have to go with no on this one.

For that amount of money, no.

I think I might go to around £200-£300...but, thats if it was something I wanted so badly I couldnt live...

And nothing like that has turned up for me

Seems like a lot of people aren't actually reading the question. If money was no object, then yeah, why not. Heck, if money was no object, I'd gladly spend $31,000 on a game that was still £40 in the shops.

But on a more serious and less obsessively literal note, no, I probably wouldn't spend quite THAT much on a game, no matter how much I wanted it.

I know graphics aren't everything, but I find myself being spoilt by all these fancy next-gen graphics. I tried playing Final Fantasy VII again not so long ago, and just couldn't do it. Though I might just not have been in the mood for FF. But graphics that old still put me off nowadays. Let alone something from the Atari 2600, which I don't know anything about, but is probably older than I am(?). I'm 19; feel free to correct me if you know more about it than I do.

If money was no object, then probably yes. Its my hobby anyway, finding rare games/consoles for the most reasonable price. For instance I just bought one of these for 180 pounds, complete with the box, manuals and all the inlays

A bit expensive perhaps, but its something to add to the ever growing collection.

No.

You realize how much candy and Big Red you could buy with a small fortune?

That thing is fucking AMAZING. I want one. No, I want 3.

I spent 75 $ on FF VII for the PS, before it was made available on the PS Network. Still happy I got the CD version anyway, even though I ended up paying a lot more than I should have...

And I bought Tactics Ogre for the PS, mint condition, for around 110$...

No "fortunes" per se, but for clearly outdated games, it's still expensive. I also have no regret whatsoever, and my wife and kid were fed still.

Besides, I consider that good games are worth paying for, just like I'll put a couple extra bucks in for a very good bottle of wine, or a high quality import beer. When you know you'll enjoy it, if only for the sake of old times, why the hell not pay a little more, then?

I guess it depends... If money erally wasn't an object, then sure, why not?

When I did get my hands on FFVII again, I was half-disapointed by the graphics - thank GAWD I knew what they looked like beforehand, I can't imagine how they'd seem to someone who's getting into it for the first time...
I'm playing FFVIII right now, and enjoying every bit of it. My fiancée, who's gaming experience is limited to FFX and FFXII (soon FFXIII), thinks I'm crazy and gags just by looking at the screen.
Nostalgia glasses mandatory, I guess.

Hm, does pirating count?

Because if you torrent a game, get caught and sued, payinig a small fortune will be the least you have to do.

If it was something like "last ever copy of Orange Box" then yes I would definately pay a small fortune for it but because that's not going to happen any time soon then no, I don't wish to part a large sum of money for a game.

If i had a small fortune to spend, i'd rather spend it on something worthwhile. Like a minigun.

A small fortune, like $30K on one game? Uh, no thank you.

(Then again, $30K kinda sounds like how much a politician pays for.... I dunno, a toilet seat.)

As the question says "if money was no object", then yes, of course, there's no reason not to.

Realistically, no, I wouldn't spend anywhere near that much. A couple of hundred, maybe, if it was something rare that I desperately wanted.

No... I have hard enough time paying $60 for new games... and I only payed that for FFXIII. All my other PS3 games were on sale/already cheaper when I got them.
