Never played Red Dead, but I don't really care. I think the game looks absolutely fantastic, and I loved GTA 4, so this is something I'm probably going to buy. Seriously, the game has so many features that all sound awesome.

So many people cite "Never played Red Dead Revolver" as their reason for not getting Redemption... Now, I could be wrong, but from what I've heard Marston wasn't even in Revolver, and Revolver's story has pretty much nothing to do with Redemption.

What's more, it's a completely different kind of game. Revolver was a shooter, while Redemption is an open-world, Rockstar-developed (San Diego, not North), action adventure game, along the same lines as GTA or Saint's Row.

Technically speaking, Revolver was also developed by Rockstar, but they didn't actually make most of the game. They took it over from a studio that went under, basically just fixed a few bugs and then released it.

So, if you like the Wild West, and if you like open-world games, then Redemption should be pretty much perfect for you.

But still, not interested in this, seeing as I never played the first.
It's a sequel only it title. Otherwise, it's an entirely different, unrelated game.

It's a totally different game and only related to the first by the shared main character.
You've got your info wrong. It's a different main character too (John Marston.)

My bad. It seems like I remembered hearing something about it being same main character, but I guess I was wrong.

I hope you can walk into a saloon, using those swinging doors and the pianist stops playing before you rip-shit up with your six-shooters

Yes!

Yes! Spit-fuckin' yes!

I'll be taking on bears with a knife and riding outlaws out of town with a lasso and an anxious horse.

Despite what most of you think I thought GTA 4 was a great game. This just looks so much better. What little I know about mutliplayer looks way better than what GTA 4 had.

Yeah, i'm hoping it's as good as the original. it's probably one of my favorite ps2 3rd person shooters. this is also a little known fact, but the 4-player versus mode was hands down one of the best multiplayer modes to a primarily single player game of the entire last generation. in my opinion of course, but holy shit, you could really set off a party with a multiplayer tap.
