I'm sitting on my computer every day for longer than I would like to admit... I need to find something else to do with my life. Nah.

It's funny that this poll came up because I've recently realized how terrible I've become at almost always needing some sort of screen in front of me or feel completely bored. It's a sign from God that I need to check myself before I... become even less healthy.

I don't like to think about it too much, it's a large portion of my day and night.

About 16 minutes every 24 minutes of every day, I need a new desk chair this one is a pre-WW2 japanese torture device. I'm only not in front of a monitor / television screen when I go out, and I haven't been doing so regularly recently, money and friends being in different cities for university (can cost over £20 to see some of them for the day).

I split that 16 minutes wisely into gaming, internet wandering, gaming, TV and gaming, with the other 8 minutes used to hallucinate vividly in a coma and then develop sudden amnesia.

Although I somehow get time to read every night for an hour, but that's still sitting on my arse and I don't think the screen changes much to my blood pressure.

Well let's see we just add that, and that, and oh then too and... and that makes... crap!

I know too much time in front of the screen is bad but when your job involves write and reviewing code it's kind of hard to avoid.

Probably about 12 hours a day. All of classes utilize web based utilities, and when I do my assignments(normally online) I'll have wikipedia or wolfram alpha or the digital copy of my text on the screen.

Plus all the time I spend gaming and watching TV.

I found a handy way around this: have a screenless day from 6AM to 6PM, and spend all the night-hours on the electronics instead of sleeping. Either way I'd be lying down, and I can't think of any consequences an extreme lack of sleep would have on my health. [/waitasecond]

Since it's the holidays, 3-4 hours a day but otherwise 1-2 hours.

I know all the health risks and know that I won't fall for them.

At least 10 hours. Being behind a screen is kinda part of my job. Thank goodness I walk to work, which means I walk about 30-40mins a day, or else I'd be in real trouble! ^_^

Far too much. Although, reading the replies, not as many as some people. I don't work in IT or do a computer-based study course - I'd like to but, considering I already spend a lot of my free time in front of a screen, it'd definitely be bad for my eyes if not my health in general.
