Princess Peach Toadstool. How many times has Mario saved her? A few hundred times? All he ever got was a peck on the nose.
On second thought you don't know, she relies on him a lot and he doesn't seem frustrated, so I guess something happens between her kidnapping episodes. On the other end, I start becoming suspicious of how careless she is to let Bowser kidnap her all the time. I guess she developed Stockholm syndrome but won't admit it to not betray Mario.

Sylvia Christel from No More Heroes. She strings Travis along for the whole game and then betrays him and then is (maybe) married to your (maybe) brother?

Off topic: the whole ending of No More Heroes left me entirely confused but filled with mirth.

Zelda. I mean, she's such a cocktease to Link. He constantly saves Hyrule and he never even gets a peck on the cheek.

What a tease.
Years ago, before I understood that I loved comics, Nintendo put out a "Link to the Past" comic that showed Links journey as it would have gone in the game in fast forward. At the end, Link is a hero, but it's bitter sweet, since Link can't have the princess. I actually cried (what, I was maybe 13 or 14) at the end. I darted room to room to escape my dads concern. I was more embaressed at tearing up over a comic than anything. (And thus began my journey into the power of sequential art as for form of powerful story telling. :D )

Ever since that moment, Princess Zelda has been a gaming heart breaker for me. There are others that are probably more prominent and powerful heart breaking forces-- Princess Toadstool was my second thought, followed by Aeris. Her death impacted me for weeks. But still, my earliest heartbreak remains the strongest; Princess Zelda.

Maby not in the traditional meaning but The only woman who broke my heart in a videogame is Lola from Grim Fandango.

Where is Princess Peach she is the biggest by far.
YES. Always running off to another castle when you've just defeated a monster to get to her. WE LOVE YOU PEACH. WE JUST WANT TO EAT YOUR DELICIOUS CAKE.

Yes that cake with the cherry on top we think. I mean she does always get "captured" by Bowser. I think she cheats on Mario like in "There Will Be Brawl".

Chell clearly. She'll break your heart, kill you, tear you to pieces AND throw every piece into a fire. Overkill? Maybe. personally I appreciate a woman who does things properly.

Marin from Link's Awakening, watching her as the game ended was the first time a video game ever made me cry.

If by "breaks hearts" you mean "makes me wish she were real and lived next door to me," then Jade, Alyx, or Jen [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Primal_%28video_game%29]. All-around awesome, the lot of 'em.
If you mean "makes me feel funny, like when we climbed the rope in gym class," then I've got to say Rayne. I wouldn't ever trust her to not eat me, but she's fun to look at.

EDIT: How many of these daily polls has "Other" won? I know I've never liked any of the stock responses.

Seriously weak poll choices....

No obvious choices like Aeris/th, or Peach.

Yet missing even choices like Alyx, Jade, Ada???

To this poll, I was saying Boo-urns.
