He'd turn the Hobbit into a horrendously overbudget, totally insane and flat out weird masterpiece. You know i make sense.

It should be a director who won't turn it into a trilogy in order to draw more money into it, as big corporations would do. Knowing all these options, though... hard pressed to pick one that could do it like Peter Jackson would. They're too Hollywood, too big name. Get some little unknown or cult-director who has the skills, could learn quite a bit from Jackson, and hope that he makes it about the book and the spirit of the franchise.

Having said that.... yeah, that rules out anyone I know.
