Awesome, weird, uniqe characters and story.
I love it.
And the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard.
I still listen to it almost every third day. ^^

Singstar, GuitarHero & Co. are fun at partys, but karaoke doesn't count as a game for me.
Original songs? No.
Story? No.
Anything unique? No.
So, no "real" games, imho.

But great fun when you're drunk. ;-)

-EDIT-
I totally forgot to mention REZ and Audiosurf. Also great games.

1. Dance Dance Revolution (arcade)
2. Beat Hazard
3. Audiosurf

They're not everyone's cup of tea, but not a single Bemani (DDR etc) game in the list? Seriously? They've been around longer than Guitar Hero!

Personal vote for Frequency/Amplitude, I like building up the whole song rather than tag through with one aspect.

I lack the requisite co-ordination to actually become any good at Guitar Hero-esque games and Bemani games, so as much as I like them, I'm going to go with the two music games I have the most fun on - Audiosurf and Beat Hazard. With an honourable mention for the music maker in Mario Paint. I've spent quite a number of hours trying to make recognisable versions of songs on it.
