I stopped playing Pokemon games, once I realised that Emerald Green was just Green remade.

I used to, but not for a while.
If they made a online console one as full featured as the handheld versions I may again, but I am pretty done with playing that same ol' game over and over again.

Eh, not a Pokemon guy, so it's nice that the poll has an option for "not playing Pokemon".
And even if I wanted to try, I don't have a DS.

Girlfriend is getting SoulSilver, might try and borrow it from her when she is done with it, but i'll stick with platinum for the time being (and even that I haven't touched since last fall)

I haven't played a Pokemon series game since Yellow and it's gonna stay that way for the foreseeable future. However I did play Pokemon Snap about 9 months ago with the guys in the apartment beside ours; that was fun. I still love that game...

Played two of these games. THey were basicallly carbon copies of eachother with minor cosmetic/story change even if i think the pokemon "universe" have potential to be interesting if used well.. (wish isnt the case so far) so no, i dont play pokemon games anymore.

I'm getting SoulSilver when it comes out here, since I had Gold back on the Game Boy Color, and it'll be nice to switch it for the remakes.

I've already made it to Azela, just finished Slowpoke part and about to take on the gym badge

Not bad considering I played most of it last night at work ^^

Well since they aren't remaking Crystal which is what I had, I bought Heart Gold since I love Ho-oh out of the two Legendary birds

Technically both. I have Heartgold and my girlfriend has Soulsilver. I had Gold originally so it only seemed fitting. Plus, Ho-oh is better than Lugia. THATS RIGHT. I SAID IT. WHO WANTS SOME.

Maining Soul Silver as my "for real" game, Heart Gold is for "fun" replays, since Lugia is better than Ho-oh, and having Lugia at lvl 45 makes it easier to EV train for competitive play.
...Your devotion both fascinates, and terrifies me.
I don't play competitively as I'd lose all the time as I prefer to assemble a random yet somewhat balanced team and generally only try to beat my friends with them (that I couldn't even do before due to lack or friends playing it and lack of Wi-Fi) though I still know about EVs and such, but only to levels where I now actually end up using all the vitamins I find (I never used to use them). I end up adopting a 'having fun' playstyle and doing lots of min/maxing, breeding and such doesn't interest me, so I generally ignore it.

I'd also be useless in any serious play due to always insisting on using a pikachu.

Back to subject, Soul Silver for me, as I played Silver (and Crystal) waaay back then, and I like to be consistent. However, the fact phanpy and teddiursa have switched versions is rather strange, at least for trying to relive the old game. (Though they are just restoring it to what it should be as they switched them from the original Japanese Gold/Silver for the translated releases for some weird reason).

The Irony is, Soul Silver has the best legendaries (Lugia, Latios, Groudon) But somewhat lesser exclusives...

Here's the list: [link]http://www.psypokes.com/hgss/differences.php[/link]

I'll be too busy playing Mount&Blade Warband to pay any attention to Pokemon. Maybe it's because I'm older but I think I just missed the boat on the series (I was 19 when the first game came out and thus don't have any "childhood memories" nostalgia to fall back on, so to me it's just a half-baked breeding/constructing game with some RPG elements.)
