That's only because two of Gold's exclusives have since got evolutions (mantyke and gliscor) and Silver's have got none.

Just in general, I have never used Mantine in my parties before but Gliscore is a personal favourite in double battles and Arcanine is fairly reliable in general and I have NEVER used any of Silver's exclusives except for Skarmory to any extent, but I guess this is my chance, so long as I'm able to get a Trapinch without much bother on Silver I'm not too fussed.

What's the difference?

Well, whereas Silver is a piece of pure awesome refined into the the shape of a videogame, full of innovation and dynamic gameplay experiences, Gold is just a cheap and nasty knockoff, designed only to please the masses and root them for all the cash they have.

Hehe, just kidding. But seriously, Silver is better. I liked the Pokemon pictures in that one better, and it has Lugia on the box. I mean, come on. Lugia.

Incidentally, do we even need a "I don't play Pokemon" option? I don't get it. What's the point? Some people don't like to play the games, fine, I get that, but why do you need an option for those people? The question is right there on the front page of the Escapist: "Pokemon: Heart or Soul?" If they're not interested in the games, why bother even clicking on the link?

While I grew up with gold, "Heart" gold is the worst name I've heard in a while. So Silver.

I already got Soul Silver (yesterday on launch day). Loving the PokeWalker (got me a Kangaskhan with it!)

Unfortunately, my sister also got Soul Silver because she is annoying and likes to copy me.

im undecided,lugia is way cooler than ho-oh and the overall look of soul silver(packaging/start up menu) will be cooler,but heart gold has waaaaaaaaaaaay better exclusive pokemon,and you can still catch lugia latter on. And i had gold as a kid so in all fairness im more likely to get heart gold.

To those who don't play pokemon, LAME!

I hate to sound like Captain of the Trolls, but that comment makes you sound like a Halo fanboy, except for Pokemon.
Not one of the smartest things to be on the Escapist (troll or fanboy).
But to be honest, not a big Pokemon fan. Played some of the oldies, and Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald and lost interest.
