Physically holding the case when walking home from Best Buy is a great moment.
It makes any walk home great, no matter how crappy the day was.
I get that feeling too. That's why I still purchase DVDs in spite of the fact that they have no resale value and it's a dying medium.

Currently digital isn't a good enough replacement for retail; I would only buy a digital copy if I wasn't really interested in replaying the game at a later date.

Maybe one day everything will be digital, but in that day the consumers still need to have a choice.

I think DD is excellent, though a mix is my favourite.

On one hand, we have : what if I get virus'd and lose all my data? DOWNLOADS AGAIN (not too much of a problem as I get steam downloads unmetered from internode).

On the other, what if my house is caught in a fire and all my hardcopies are burnt to cinders?

Both have their ups and downs. I am slightly more in favor of DD though, as I tend to find things are cheaper on there and do not have much of a problem with downloads.

I prefer the continued existence of multiple options, especially in that I prefer to be able to play my games when I move but don't have internet yet set up in the new apartment.

well i dont want retail to dissepear for 3 reasons:
-It's convenient, but I want a physical copy of some games.
-I really like the boxart map's that are included and stuff like that.
-not everyone has unlimited datalimit.

NEVER! I love the physical copies of all my games, it's how I know they're really mine.

well, no, I like to have a hard copy. Though I must admit that lately most of my games are being obtained through steam
