I'll pick it up eventually based on the fact that Treyarch's CoD games are infinitely superior to Infinity Ward's.

My theory is that Call of Duty is becoming the new Madden. It's not made for gamers. This is all shit we've seen before, played before, and grown bored of before. I mean yeah, there are a few enthusiasts among gamers but mostly its aimed at the same kind of crowd that Madden is.

For example, I don't know any of my gamer friends (online or otherwise) that have any interest in buying a new Call of Duty game. Very few even cared much about Modern Warfare 2. However I work in a college dorm checking IDs. It is now 12:45am and I've seen at least 15 student residents enter the building with their midnight release copies of Black Ops. I have a whole string of posts from old High School friends on facebook about how they now posses Black Ops. The only time I've ever seen any of them even mention video games is when the new Madden releases.

I just don't know if this is a bad thing or not. The same people that used to beat kids up for geeking out on Final Fantasy are now proudly posting pictures of themselves to the world with their midnight release copy of Call of Duty fresh in their hands.

Halo is interesting in that it seems to bridge the gap between those who are enthusiastic about all genres of gaming (gamers, I guess), and those who are excited about shooters and sports titles.

I'm going to town tomorrow to pick up the pre-ordered copy for my friend, and myself.
We were going to have a party, complete with ordered pizza, but he got a job, so no party, no pizza, no friend to play the game with until later in the day >.>
So you and the Roob-Tube all night on Biops?

OT: Yeah I amazon'd it. Couldn't be arsed to physically have to move to get my COD fix =P

If somebody gets it for me, like MW and MW2, then I will but I won't buy Black Ops for myself.

That was the original plan.
But now I can't even go to town to get Black Ops, because I had two seizures last night.
So I'll probably get it tomorrow.

Need a "No, because it's another annual cash in, in a series that has gone downhill the last three iterations and Treyarch can suck a fat one since they have been gushing about the games features and then restrict them to online players only" poll option.

Seriously, playing with bots requires Live Gold and an active internet connection.

I was GOING to pick up the game at midnight. But I decided to get the hardened edition and, if I couldn't get that, I wasn't going to get the game at all. So I waited in line for about an hour, and then when I got to the front of the line, I told the guy who was getting the other employees to get the games around that I wanted a hardened edition. They had one left. The guy in front of me then decided right then to buy it, even though he had no idea what it included, had no interest in the version before, and had heard me say that it was the only version I wanted. And what only adds to that is the fact I had let the guy go ahead of me before to be nice to him while I talked to a friend.

So, after that rant, I wanted to get it at midnight, but some jerk made it so I didn't.

I've never actually played "Call of Duty" and I don't think I'm going to start now.
I could basically say this and be done with it. I have never cared for "Cock of Doody" games. And I highly doubt I ever will. The series never interested me, it's all the same shit. Hell, I tolerated Battlefield: Bad Company 2..

Oh, the CoD fanbase majority is also full of 12-year-olds. Yeah. I'll pass.

Granted, I play Halo games and enjoy them, but I can also avoid the immature preteen twats. Woo!

YES! Totally agree. Although, through high school, I ended up with a decent group of gaming buddies, so we all bonded over the same hobbies, etc.

But i still irritates me when I find there are people who used to ***** AND COMPLAIN about video games being only for geeks/nerds.. And now those very bastards are DOING THE SAME THING. Seriously..

Because I'm pretty much confined to the house with flu, my dad is going to pick it p for me after work tonight.
So hopefully I'll have it soon enough. I want to see if the campaign is any good...
