Question of the Day, October 29, 2010

Screenwriters, programmers, voice actors - there's plenty of ways to contribute to the creation of a videogame. If you had your choice, what would be your role in a large game development company?

Journalist would be interesting I think.

Other, I'd like to be the guy who helps to write up world that the game is going to take place in.

Programmer or Game Designer.

I really want to get my A levels out of the way so I can focus on something a little more in depth.

Wow, multivote? That's new. OT: I think I'd prefer trying to think up of new games myself.

Game design.
I'm stuck with level designing for too long. It's time to move forward. Or leave industry at all.

If I were to work in the videogame industry I'd be a programmer.

But I'm not aiming for the videogame industry ;)

Wait, i could vote for several ones? Damn...
Anyways, tough I'm no actor neither do i have a great voice, still, something about voice acting intrigues me. I'd love to give it a try.

Even though I'm not very good at it, given the chance I would jump into voice acting

Writer would be my first go-to option. I already write a lot of campaign settings for my tabletop RP group whether it's AD&D, Call of Cthulhu, Paranoia, Star Wars etc so I reckon it's the logical choice. Story-boarding a game level seems (to an outsider) pretty similar to creating and scripting a tabletop encounter.

A level computing is lame. Most unis don't even care whether or not you took it to do a computer science degree,

I would only ever consider writing. I can't say I have any interest in working in the industry though.

Voice actor or writer.

T'would be fun, although I'd rather work with movies.

I don't know. There's several I'd like to dip my toe into, but I don't know which one I'd want to dive into. Voice acting, writing and design sound pretty good.

Yay! A soulmate!

OT: Besides just being paid for writing cheesy storylines, desinger or artist would do too. I'm all about the creative things.
