It's got to be Boudicca, the chariot, the hair... Oh Boudicea, how many ways do you entrance me? If there's even half a chance to play as Bo-Dicky-Drumlins then I'm all over that.

Failing that, Kim Jong-il, Colonel Gadaffi or Hugo Chavez for the opportunity to just be batshit crazy and foster confusion in my enemies.

Since when was Catherine the Great an ancient leader? Ah, who cares, I'll pick her and her fancy hat.

They call it a Pyrrhic victory for a reason. Hannibal did it better.
If by did it better you mean, he got his ass kicked so hard in the Battle of Zama that Carthage was left so crippled after the 2nd Punic war that they couldn't even put up a fight in the 3rd Punic War. At least the part of Greece that Pyrrhus ruled over wasn't wiped out.

Pyrrhus was the first to use elephants against Rome.
It took til Zama for Hannibal to use Elephants too - and that's the battle he lost. Only one survived the crossing of the alps, if I recall - his personal elephant.

I think I'd want to play as Charlemagne or Augustus Caesar. I never really liked that Hannibal led the Carthaginians. Just because he's the only one anybody can name doesn't mean he led them for any substantial period of time.
Or to a good end. Now, if we could play as Dido...

How silly of me! I totally forgot about her. Eh, if they let you play as Gilgamesh, they should let you play as Dido for sure.

Has Hideyoshi ever been playable? I just know Ieyasu and Nobunaga have, but Hideyoshi should be, but Im guessing has been playable in a few Civ games.

Alexander is from Macedonia. I'll take him over the other choices available. Queen Dido would have been fun.

I say Suleiman the Magnificent, ottoman empire is tight. But I would really like George W. Bush.
