I was going to say Red vs. Blue, but it's not there. I should check out this Rev vs. Blue since I've never heard of it.

(I know it's a typo, so get your panties out of a knot)

Grif is the best.

I'm gonna say the fact that it was a good game made it more popular.

Red vs. Blue certainly helped though.

I'm gonna say I love bees. I know more people probably know of Halo through Red Vs Blue, but that was just an awesome advertisement ploy.

We all found a typo! hahahaha, so original. God, people are boring.

OT: The graphic novels for sure, they actually made halo more money.

I Love Bees was pretty cool, but, out of that list, Red Vs Blue had the biggest influence.

Seriously, it pretty much introduced me to Halo.

Never heard of Rev vs Blue.....but if you are referring to the most excellent and best machinima of all time called Red vs Blue....then that would be a vote.

Red vs Blue is the only reason I have to even vaguely care about anything Halo-related. Huzzah for the folks at RoosterTeeth.

It was an early X-box game. It became one of the first that people bought and since it was good people stuck with it... probably for too long. It became popular and people ate up the sequels. Now its just played ad infininum on multiplayer. It was really the timing that made it popular in my eyes.

Definately Red v.s. Blue, mainly because aside from the graphic novels (which are available for essentially any best-selling game) I hadn't heard of the other "huge" events.

What I do think helped the Halo franchise become popular was it's use of Xbox Live. Simply the storyline and offline multiplayer wouldn't have been enough in my eyes to carry the series, but when you then have a console game with up to 32 players fighting at the same time, then that's the sort of thing anyone would want to be part of.

Well, except PC gamers. They've been pwning since Master Chief was doing space toilet training.

Conclusive poll is conclusive.

RvB was discovered by me long after I had the game though.

Red vs Blue is the single greatest thing on the internet
no offense to anything on the Escapist

even though Halo inspired a billion crappy clones and made FPS games not fun I still couldn't erase it from existence because Red Vs Blue is so damn awesome.
