Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft, GO!!

And writing an essay in a day is no problem. Hell, I accidentally write essay-length posts on these forums all the time, delete them, and write shorter ones. It helps to pick a topic you have an interest in.

Compare the imagery of romance novel book covers to religious art. Hilarious and kind of weird if you notice all the adoration going on.

I AM NOT PROCRASTINATING!
i have high 90's in all my classes so im not dumb or lazy, i just can't think of ANYTHING which is very weird so all i am doing is asking for your help!
You're on an internet forum when you should be working on a paper. You're a procrastinator. I should know, we can smell our own.
Seriously though, there have already been some superb ideas provide, get to it.
On a side note, procrastination is not a sign or a low intelligence, merely low discipline and focus.

Suggestions -
Star Wars and Harry Potter.
The Roman Empire and the modern day world 'American Empire' (Or any empire you care to name).
Sport culture and Nerd culture.
How Science is viewed now and how Magic was viewed in the past.

I had a similar assignment several months ago. After procrastinating up until the deadline, I wound up writing a damn good essay, if I do say so myself, comparing and contrasting the bar scenes of X-Men: First Class and Inglourious Basterds. Both feature Michael Fassbender talking to Nazis, but there's a lot of material to write about concerning director's choices in tone, pacing, etc.

Obviously that shouldn't specifically be your topic, but you get the idea. With such an open-ended assignment, find something you're passionate about, something you'd rant about anyway without the prompting of a teacher, and use that.

Speaking as an English professor, if I were teaching a grade 10 AP english class, I'd want my students to compare/contrast something that we'd been reading. If you've been reading any literature, like your Greek plays (I think that 10th grade is Classical Lit) or epics, then you'll probably earn brownie points for having treated two characters from two separate works. The previous suggestions seem sound enough, but I'm worried that you might get chapped for not having done any academic sources (example of Aeneas etc. excepted, naturally).

But if the prompt doesn't specify, I guess anything is fair game? If you can briefly describe your readings that you've done, I might be able to recommend something more concrete.

I think it would the equivalent of year 11 English or AS English. Not sure about whether it's lit or language but its somewhere in that neighbourhood.

effectiveness of essays as a learning tool compared to alternate learning methods. Like lectures, exams, experiencing stuff etc.

or compare doing last minute essay writing with starting your work early.

What will you be comparing? How will you be copmaring them? Is it going to be similarities/ differences?

Since you're short on time, what subjects/ topics do you feel the most confident writing about?

Sorry but I won't help you, the only way for you to learn is to be punished for it.
Should start it as early as possible and not ask for help last minute.

Take something that interests you in the present, something you know quite a bit about. Your hobbies, your interests (think of other subjects) and then find something in the past that people thought the opposite of.
Eg some modern science that was explained by religion.
A modern sport and an old one
Modern methods of communication and older ones
Modern methods of war and old. etc etc

The list is endless and once one part of your essay is based on something you know a lot about, it halves your work, the other half should be easy enough to research since they are some bit related.

Hope this helped.

Oooh, I'm a bit biased, but the magic and science one is fantastic. I cast my vote for that.
Thank you. I'm pretty sure that was my idea. Unless I was ninja'd of course.
