Quickscoping is a very controversial tactic and I understand all of the hate for it but since when is quick scoping "Cheap"?
Becuase you basicaly use it as a shotgun and use the aim-assit in a way its not meant to be used.TheMigrantSoldier said:Quickscoping is a very controversial tactic and I understand all of the hate for it but since when is quick scoping "Cheap"?
Are you referring to the overpowered death cannons of CoD2 known as scoped rifles?AnythingOutstanding said:This was fine in Call of Duty 2. Why is it so different now?JaredXE said:Because you are using a long range weapon at short range, giving you a one-hit kill. Yes, shotguns do the same thing, but you can't use a shotgun at medium and long ranges. Basically, with quickscoping you turn your rifle into an all-purpose weapon against all realistic properties, with it being capable of one-shotting at any range.
No, you cheap bastard, no.
Well yeah. People will still try to quickscope so Treyarch didn't completely eradicate quickscoping.demoman_chaos said:Treyarch got rid of quick scoping, or so they think.
ACOG on a FAL or M14 and the sleight of hand pro perk. Quickscoping exists on the psuedo snipers that 2 shot.
Like I said, Call of duty was never a series meant for realistic sniping. If you want some realistic sniping, play a Battlefield game or that game "Sniper: Ghost something".daemon37 said:I've never played any of the Call of Duty games, so I looked up quickscoping. Wow, yeah, that's not at all how a sniper rifle is supposed to be used. People who do this kind of thing online in competitive multiplayer games are jerks.
Play the game the way it was meant to be played or GTFO.
Put an ACOG on a sniper and it works just as well.TheMigrantSoldier said:Well yeah. People will still try to quickscope so Treyarch didn't completely eradicate quickscoping.demoman_chaos said:Treyarch got rid of quick scoping, or so they think.

Actually, in CoD, the automatic weapons take around 20 shots to kill someone while no matter what the sniper is one shot.AnythingOutstanding said:With any automatic weapon, anyone who gets the first shot in wins.spartan1077 said:Since you can one-shot an enemy with a sniper rifle before they can get a shot off with their assault rifle, smg, lmg, knife, pistol or anything.
This is not a fair argument because if people with almost any other weapon get the first shot in then they will most likely survive if there are no outside factors.
It's not how the designers of the game made the gun, it's how the designers of the gun made the gun. Normally, I stand by fun>realism, unless you're trying to make a game where fun is derived from realism. Such as a FPS based in the real world.AnythingOutstanding said:''How it is supposed to be used'' is not an option in Black Ops from what I can tell.daemon37 said:I've never played any of the Call of Duty games, so I looked up quickscoping. This is a terrible argument on every account.
Not everyone wants to play the way whatever the designers want you to play.
But it's still a shooter. If it's a war game, you at least expect the weapons to behave somewhat realistically. If you quickscoped with a sniper rifle in reality (or any rifle, for that matter), the bullet would go wide... sort of like how it does in the game. Huh.AnythingOutstanding said:This is an arcade shooter though.Double A said:It's not how the designers of the game made the gun, it's how the designers of the gun made the gun. Unless it was highly overpowered(Which I doubt...big time), this really shouldn't be an issue.
