I'm surprised no one else has answered this properly yet... Because it grew.

Eh I find Metroid boring. It's not the gameplay it's just not my style of space shooter.

I liked Dead Space due to the unlockables and Upgrades.I liked doom for the creepy atmosphere and horrifying monsters and I like Halo for the Multiplayer (Yes I like halo *GASP*). But metroid had always bored me even before it made the jump to shooter.

Haha, I was just nitpicking, nothing personal. I personally love the Metroid games but I can kinda understand why someone else might not.

Alright this is probably going to make me sound like an asshole but be assured I have the utmost respect for the metroid series and have fond memories of playing almost every game in that series. From a marketing perspective this is the perfect to fix metroid and make it more popular with more demographics. Team ninja has proven one things in their games at least to me they know how to make buckets of blood and retarded amounts of boob be put on screen along with pretty good gameplay whereas despite it's legendary status and really good gameplay blood and boobs are two things metroid lacks (no I don't count dying animation bikini samus). To me this says team ninja was hired for the express purpose to up those factors. I'm not sure if that's a good thing because god damn do I love my ninja gaiden and metroid and mashing together seems sweet or a bad thing as the taint of hemophilia and stupid crazy anime boobage while awesome in most places might leave a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to one of my and worlds most classic of series. You be the judge.

I know, hence the "Haha." But for reference I don't think they described Other M as that, just the Prime games (it was one of the things Miyamoto stressed when Prime was first announced).

The way I see it the new Metroid prime games are the defintion of Generic fps game. Right down to the fact that you could replace seamus with a panda bear and you wouldn't notice the diffrence. Although thats also the same case as in Call Of Duty.

I'll worry about it when it gets here. Worrying about its quality now is like worrying about SC II. Metroid games always deliver, so w/e.
