Quirks picked up from video game characters

Personally, I tend to use 'gg' a lot in real life situations. I picked it up from Starcraft.

-"Oh, how'd you do on that Calc test?"
-"dude I answered like two questions"
-"...gg."

And I tend to use "Toasty" which I first heard from Stepmania whenever I do something really awesome.

As for actual gestures, I tend to do salutes instead of waves and such as well, and sometimes when I smile I do this really stupid grin that looks just like Rash from Battletoads. (but I try to not do that.)

Well... I've stopped saying rocket launcher. I have to say it like the guys from Metal Slug!

"Rawket Lawnchair!"

Other than that, I remember crouching when I was trying to sneak around my house when my room mate was awake. Damn you, Thief.

Srsly? Dude, that's fucked up. An arm pump or two finger salute is one thing... but that? I'm willing to bet it is often followed immediately by geeky laughter or social awkwardness, maybe an ass kicking.

As for adopting game character physical ticks, no, leave that crap for cos players, it is not cool and no one thinks it is.
As mentioned, I usually only do it when no one is around. I agree, it would look pretty stupid. As said.

Every once in a while at work my boss will tap me on the shoulder to give me an assignment at work and i'll respond like the peons from Warcraft 3 "Zug, zug" or if he's done it a few times today, "Poke poke poke, is that all you do?" or "Why don't you run your store instead of touching me"
Ah, Warcraft quotes. I generally limit myself to "zug, zug", "work, work" and the occasional "Don't poke me". And I haven't even played much of the Warcraft series. Think I played WC2 5 years ago or something.

I bounce like a Nightelf when I'm bored or waiting.

Also, I have a tendency to say "...Whatever"- Very Squall like, even though it doesn't really fit my personality.

I sometimes describe myself as a sponge. I pick up accents, words, mannerisms, and other such things very easily and very quickly, and often without my knowledge. For instance, after watching Zero Punctuation, I've started using words like "****" and "twat" and such, and when I rant (and I do so love to rant,) I'll copy the way he speaks, from time to time. The inflection.
I don't usually do the same for video game characters, though...strange, that.
I started talking like Zero Puctuation after watching his vids as well lol.

Not so much quirks... more that I quote pop culture at an alarming rate, making increasingly obscure references as I go by. I often restrain myself from spurting out some obscure reference when a teacher at school says something leading up to it. I can't really give you examples, except for when I am in an exam, and the invigilator says 'You have 5 minutes left' or something similar. I think they should use the Halo multiplayer guy.

'5 MINUTES REMAINING!'

and then they press the wrong button

'BLUE TEAM CAPTURED THE FLAG'

and then I would laugh heartily. Like so: hah ha hah ahahahahah, aho ho ho ho ho, ah hee hee hee, muwahahahahahahahahah, buwahahahahahah, so my plans will be complete, my prettys, soon...

and then the men in white coats would arrive to take me to the land of the fairy kingdoms.

(Skips away merrily)

I've always wondered if I could effectively hide in a cardboard box without being noticed.

When something nice happens I do the mid-jump mario pose and make the coin-noise twice.

oh and if someone does a buttload of great jokes in a row, maybe I'll do an "ULTRA-KILL!" (only among people who get it)

Rawk-Rawk-ket Lawncher! I still do that every time I see a rocket launcher in a game. (I used to work in a store that had that arcade game)

Also, from years of RPGs I've developed the habit of breaking into people's homes and stealing all their stuff, breaking their pottery to check for money, and than talking to them casually like nothing happened before leaving.

I'm a fan of the Cole Train "Woo woo!" (which usually follows a particularly brutal head shot).

In my case, the Woo Woo gets busted out when I find something good in the fridge. Not quite as cool but whatever.

Not really picked up any quirks, but I do sometimes look at places I'm in and think of military tactics like in a strategy game or an FPS, or how to survive if there were zombies attacking there like in Resident Evil or Dead Rising. I also have a habit of sometimes repeating game quotes to myself, especially ones from Halo :S

ive also started quoting gears of war with sayings like 'ah shit!' from marcus and 'yeah baby, can't stop the train!' from cole
I do that too. I shout things like: "WHO WANTS TOAST!?" and "WHEEEREE'S MYY WIIIFEE!"
Sometimes I say "All on board the Cole-Train!"

Um... I used to sing the FF victory music. Now I mostly just quote things. The funny part is, I do it so often I can't say what is from a game right off the top of my head.

Just the odd thing for me that I never expected to happen. Like seeing my cat curled into a perfect circle and just randomly saying, in an official voice, "Morph-Ball Acquired."
