I'm very impressionable. Watching footage of that game totally makes me want to go out and kill some people with my shoulder mounted plasma cannon, or maybe bite someone's head off with my little mouth that I have inside my big mouth. Who knows what I might do?

AvP isn't even good.
Please don't state opinion as fact.
The controls are terrible and unresponsive (especially for the xenomorphs). The environments are restrictive, and the level design is poor and repetitive.

The AI is easy to exploit, and the marine campaign is boring.

The graphics are decent, and the trophy kills are fun for a while, and that's pretty much it.

Instead of making three mediocre campaigns, they should have made one good one.
Once again, this is how you perceived it, I didn't have a problem with the controls, and I found the Marine campaign to be quite good.

AI exploitable in an FPS, say it isn't so. I find that to be rather common in almost every FPS I play.

Like I said, don't state opinion as fact, just because you didn't like it doesn't mean no one does.

Does your government have a meeting and a vote whenever a violent or sexual game comes out?
well in britain the board of censorship and clasification reveiw it

then by judgeing the content and how its presented the game is given a rating

3+, 12+, R-15 or R-18 (there are others but they are the most commen)
And to top it off, i don't think a single game has never been allowed in britain... exepct one of the hitman games i think.

Anyone over the age of 18 should basically be unaffected by this "ban" that Atkinson has imposed. If over the age of 18 you should have the ability to order games online, which costs less than shops and is not restricted.

So basically, if you are old enough to play R-18 games, the "ban" shouldn't affect you. Meaning that all it does is prevent young kids from getting their hands on adult material. This is a good thing.

Atkinson, I salute you.
Hows that work? I can't buy a copy of uncensored L4D2 for my Xbox from the US due to the region lockout. I had to purchase it on Steam and then uncensored it (it was a lot cheaper though).

And 15 year old kids are getting their hands on Fallout 3 (rated 17+ in America i think) and AvP (should be 18+here but instead will be 15+).

The man is a total douche, his arguments are illogical.

I read somewhere that the discussion paper the government released for the R18 debate returned figures saying that over 98% of people were for the rating and 2% were against. In fact, from memory, the approximate numbers were about 1500 had been recorded (not returned. Apparently they have almost 20000 to go through) and from that 17 had voted against.
And Atkinson's response to this was: "meh"

im not complaining about the R-18 ban that dosnt affect me

what i am saying is

why say this game is too gory to be sold

and then make it available to younger children

regardles of your veiws of atkinson youve got to see how stupid that idea is

it goes against everything atkinson stands for
A case of corruption and possible hypocricy? Sounds like a publicity stunt for Dante's Inferno.

You can't with a straight face say that the controls are good. Workable? Yes. Good? Not even close.

Of course, you're probably just looking past all of the flaws, and judging by the fact that you like the marine campaign, I theorize that you don't play shooters much, considering how unoriginal that campaign actually is.
I believe I did, I adapted to them quite quickly. Just because you had a problem with the controls doesn't make them bad, it just means you didn't get the hang of them.

Well your theory just bit the dust, I have played plenty of shooters and yeah alright, it was a little generic, but you're missing the fact that I enjoyed it. I'm not saying you did, I'm saying I enjoyed the campaign, it respects the source material.

I never said the game is perfect, but I really like it.

there have been a few....but those few dont deserve to be let in anywhere

there was one that was like that game sim city....but instead of a city it was a Nazi death camp (no joke)

i dont think Rapelay (the gangrape game)is being sold in britain

most of the time we just ask for things to be cut or censored

But games are evil! I played Manhunt and that taught me all the skills i needed to go on a killing rampage with only a plastic bag, some broken glass and a nail gun! Truly theese games should be banned every where. I support you Gemma Atkinson!!! [/sarcasm]

It might be more expensive, but couldn't you simply import the games from outside the country in order to avoid that problem? Or better yet, have someone from another country of a similar speaking language send you a copy in exchange for payment. Wouldn't that avoid the issue until Atkinson is killed (probably by Yahtzee if anyone)?
