I got bored before I reached the end, a big part of that was because of the races. They are optional, but being the completionist that I am, I felt I had to do them. In all, I think I spent more time racing than I did shooting. As for the shooting, it's pretty standard and a bit bland with the same old weapons that have been around since the dawn of shooters. It has some interesting secondary items, but they tend to fall into the catogories of "useful, plentyful and boring" or "rare, lackluster and fun". What that means is that you don't use the fun items much and end up stockpiling them, which seems a waste.
Enviroments are nice enough, but only two stood out for me really: the trip into the old city filled with mutants and the Smash TV section. The rest just seemed to be comprised of garages and ruins and weren't very memorable.
Enemies are pretty indistinct and are either bandits, bandits with shields or elite bandits. Then there are a range of mutant creatures which are more interesting and probably why the old city stage stood out from the rest.
I didn't like any of the NPCs much and the way quests were handed out always had me questioning why the hell I was helping them. For example, I'd enter an area and the local boss would tell me that if I wanted to stay I'd better get in his good books. The only way that was going to happen was if I went and ended the stalemate with his rival that had been going on for years by singlehandedly killing the boss fella, all his men and giving his territory over to the quest giver. Not asking much is he? All the time threatening to have you killed if you don't do it. It's just stupid logic that broke any sense of immersion for me.
I wouldn't recomend the game really. Seems like bargin bin material. I think I paid £12 or so in a sale for it. I certainly wouldn't pay more than this and in my estimation is probably worth about £8.
