I only ever played Total War online. Whenever I was on the receiving end of a severe arse kicking, I'd say screw it and banzai all my dudes (even my archers) into the nearest enemy. Better to go out in a blaze of glory than to retreat like a coward. I know there is an admit defeat button, but tis not as fun as yelling in the mic/typing in the chat box "BLUBLUBLUBLUBLUBLUBLBULUB" as you charge all your goons to their doom.

Thats more then 8 letters, so he'd have to go to the spaces betwen his knuckles.

OT: I dont think I've ever rage quit. I've bitched and moaned, but not really rage quit. Its probbaly normal, at least among people who dont like to lose or who are immature acting.

My favorite is when ragequitters try to rationalize their behavior. What amuses me is that for most games the online play barely resembles the offline actually competitive/professional play. So to me that makes the people who take the online play as seriously as most ragers do seem even more pathetic (i.e. "Must...preserve...win/loss record"). I play a lot of fighting games and when I see someone with a ridiculous record I assume it's too good to be true and I'm usually right. About the only time I would accept mid-game quitting for non-emergency reasons would be in games like the aforementioned L4D2 where it's entirely possible for one player to completely sabotage a teams ability to win either through being an idiot or due to being a malicious douchebag.

Well, that's not what I'd get on a tattoo...

My friends and I get ragequitters on CoD all the time. Not even because we play like assholes, but because we're moderately solid as a working team when we decide we wanna win a match or two. The people who rage quit in the middle of a game like that are generally the variety of people we tend to make fun of on Live. >.> If you can't take that someone beat you so you quit out, not only are you still the loser, but you're also a pussy.

These people exist?!?!

Seriously though, I've never heard of such behavior. I tend to bum rush people that I know are better than me...because it can throw them for a loop, and it sometimes works.

The irony of the ragequiting is that it only proves that he isn't good at all.

I lol'd heartily at this. I can only imagine the kind of logic (or lack thereof) moving through this person's brain.

OT: Unfortunately the kind of gamer you have described are in large quantities in the gaming communities. There is really nothing we can do about them but sigh.

I never give up, I never surrender, hell in league of legends I have only voted to surrender once in over 300 games and that was because we lost 2 people early on and our enemy team sucked at pushing but we couldnt out fight the 2 extra chars in big fights
Fight to the end. Losing in a game is part of the lifestyle. I don't enjoy the feeling of losing but I endure it. It would take a lot more energy and raise my blood pressure level more if I wanted to always win all the time, everytime without an exception.

If he considers himself a pro gamer make him sign up for a gaming tournament with prize money prove his metal and humiliate him on a giant scale also he cant back out of matches that way.

Rage quit is not a legit strategy.
Quit if you are constantly being stomped by extremely good players or in cases such as COD you are low rank and have basic weapons and the enemy has the best weapons and such then id consider it reasonable. (Though i do not think COD requires very much skill at all.)

Knuckle tattoos are stupid i don't even think McDonald's will employ you with tattoos like that unless he is going to become a tattoo artist that's just stupid.

Among most players to do this consistently like this i don't believe this is normal just unquestionable stupidity.

Whenever I feel like rage quitting I always realise its because I'm being fucking shit at the time, but I still have a pretty good K/D.

Actually having RAGE QUIT tattoo'd on yourself is something totally new to me though!, thats hardcore belief in rage quitting.

IRL, quitting is a strategy that should be strongly considered, but in-game it can be bad sportsmanship, and it can be sad when people think of it as being an actual strategy.

Funnyest ragequit I ever hear was some guy that, just as he was about to leave, his brother walks in and starts stopping him, I could hear everything over the mike!

But sounds like that guy is just a vain prick, their everywhere.

I would inform your friend that a 'professional' gamer is someone who makes their living off of gaming, or at least gets paid to do it. Just because you take yourself overly seriously and act like a 4 year old doesn't make you a pro.

Of course, when you point that out he'll probably just bellow at the ceiling and run out of the room.

Also, not all actual quits are ragequits, the person doesn't need to block out the whole rest of their life while they play.

i dont see a problem with ragequitting. better that than getting yourself banned.... and if you no longer have fun playing..... why play?

but no, it doesnt make you a winner, but at least you are not a loser.

LOL only time I ever rage quit is when I'm frustrated with myself... (and so unless you're physically in the room you wouldn't know)

I always assumed that people who rage quit were those who couldn't accept their own faults and would blame everyone else. I had a friend who used to rage a lot (before you ask, I was his friend for other reasons and eventually as he got older he calmed down) and one time at a lan party at his house, while I was using someone else's computer cuz I didn't have CS on my own, he yelled at me, "STOP F#$!KING HACKING YOU PIECE OF $#!T" ... ... my K:D? 1:16... I killed him once in 16 rounds...

Usually for me I'm playing things like golf irl... once you start to get frustrated your game goes downhill and fast, it's a viscous cycle... There is always value in a loss, and in this case I consider the value that I need to work on keeping my cool when I'm not doing as well as I think I should.
