If you gather enough Shadow Shards, you can wedge them into the lock in just the right way to open the shadow gate the other way. Just don't be standing in front of it when it opens, because sometimes someone's trying to do the opposite quest and just standing there staring at it in frustration when you open it and they tend to dive through without sounding the horn first.zombiejoe said:

However, the shadow shards corrupt your character overtime, which would be terrible if you don't have the blood of Amberclease in your character. You can only get the blood by achieving vampire status in the 15th chamber of Sandra. She will only give you the key to 15 if you defeat the Grodon or have intimate relations with her.
