Not sure if they are all that rare but I own the following games along with the original boxes, manuals etc.

-Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
-Tron 2.0
-Dogs of War
-Alice (my personal favorite game of all time)

If only I hadn't sold all my Sega and PS1 games, I'd have either a gold mine or one long ass list of old games.

Not rare if you're from the US, but my European copy of Advent Rising was rather hard to get hold of.

Pokemon Yellow, and not one, not two, but THREE copies of Pokemon Blue.
I also used to have Crystal, but I think I gave that away. God that game ROCKED.

Border Down along with most of the other rare Dreamcast shmups.
Cosmic Smash and Napple Tale
Panzer Dragoon Saga

Does Rez count as a rarity?
Depends which version PAL, US or JP. All are pretty rare actually, but some versions more than others.

I have a copy of Raptor, the best top-scrolling flying shooter ever made ever.
It certainly looks good, but defo not the best top-down shmup ever made.

I had a copy of that old game for the NES with Yoshi and the cookies (it was a puzzle game) but my mom sold it in a garage sale.

In a "not quite so rare" note, how much would it cost me to buy an original SNES and super mario RPG? I have great memories of the game, but I could only play at a friends house and, well, never got around to beating it. I'm also tired of waiting for it to come out on the virtual console.

I have never traded in (and rarely even lend my friends) my games, so I think of them as my little collection of awesome. Not sure how rare some of these actually are, so I'll mention the ones I had a hard time coming across:
2 LoZ collectors editions (one with OOT, MM, and 2 NES LoZ games/one with OOT, and OOT Master Quest)
all 3 Fatal Frame games
Kuon
Shadow Hearts: Covenant (cant find a copy of the original Shadow Hearts anywhere)
Rule of Rose
Trapt
SMT Nocturne with strategy guide brick
3 of 4 Ace Attorney games (cant find the 1st one)
I HAD a copy of Beyond Good & Evil for Gamecube...but it has mysteriously dissapeared.

I've been trying to get KH:chain of memories and Koudelka for a while now. Ebay is looking to be my only hope.

Two words: Primal Rage.
In my local Gamestation there are about 4 copies of that at any one time. I guess people keep returning them?
Yeah, I know lots of friends that have Primal Rage.

Check this out on gamespy. Top 10 Gaming Grails. Really rare stuff!
http://uk.gamespy.com/articles/492/492961p1.html

Looking at the games people are mentioning on this thread I would say not many of them are particularly hard to get hold of or even that expensive.

Look at this list I found on wikipedia as well. I would say some of them are good ones to aim for in a 'collectors' collection.

Super Mario Bros (1987), Nintendo Game & Watch, Japanese version. The most valuable Game & Watch title when in mint condition, with only 10,000 manufactured.

Final Fantasy (1987), Nintendo Famicom, Japanese version.

Chrono Trigger (1995), Super Nintendo, US version.

Earthbound (1995), Super Nintendo, US version.

Exed Exes (1985), Nintendo Famicom, Japanese version. This cartridge fetches high prices in Japan when found with its Silver Members stickers.

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (1990), MSX-2, Japanese version. It is claimed that this title is so rare that it has never been seen on Ebay.

Panzer Dragoon Saga (1998), Sega Saturn, United States and European version.

Comix Zone (1995), Mega Drive, Japanese version.

Kizuna Encounter (1996), Neo Geo, European version.

Hyper Duel (1996), Sega Saturn, Japanese version.

Bakuretsu Muteki Bangaioh (1999), Nintendo 64, Japanese version, of which there are only 10,000 cartridges.

Tengen Tetris (1989), Nintendo Entertainment System, US version. This version of Tetris is collectible due to Tengen being refused copyright for its Famicom version of the puzzle game, but they distributed it anyway. It was pulled from shop shelves only four weeks after publication.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (2000), PS2 and Xbox. As the license for use of the Marvel characters has long expired, Capcom is no longer able to release this game in any format. As a result, the PS2 and Xbox versions of the game have become more valuable since their release.

Zoids: Battle Legends (2004), Limited copy release, 1% chance of a store having any copies.

I saved my Dreamcast and copy of Soul Calibur for purely sentimental reasons. It might not be worth anything, but I have too many memories with that game to ever sell it. Otherwise, the oldest game I own is Psychonauts ... yeah, I'm not much of a collector :)

I have a copy of the initial, uncensored release of The Getaway with the BT van and the torture scene, which were removed after complaints from BT and ESRB, respectively. Not that rare, but worth having nonetheless.
