^ I just prefer colour artwork. I chose this one specifically because I preferred the version with red eyes over her current, blue-eyed iteration.
As for your avatar...black-and-white and simplicity aren't really my thing. 7 people trying to hold up a 7/11 at gunpoint out of 11.

While I do recongnise the character as Yonmu from Touhou Project, I also feel that the art is a little bit off. Not in terms of getting the characters likeness but the head looks a bit squashed and the eyes seem to be at an oft angle. 6/10 shall be my rating.
Just so you know, that was her portrait in her debut, Perfect Cherry Blossom.
Anyway, I really do think I could rate your avatar higher, but you've chosen a rather large image, and it's been compressed a little too much. Also, the angle is a little bit disorienting. On a scale of 1 to Fury of the Storm on Expert, I'd give it a 6.
