Prototype. I don't think I've ever played a game with a protagonist as powerful as Alex Mercer is, and it's very awesome.

Bought the new Red Faction, with mixed feelings. I couldn't afford both it and Prototype. T-T

I enjoy the gameplay, but even early in I can see how repetitive this game is going to be. The story is half-assed, the characters are cardboard to the max, and the lack of blood reminds you that you're just playing a game.

Also, the insignificant penalty you suffer when you die makes death seem trivial. "Oh teh noes, I lost 3 morale!" It doesn't matter, since you just blew the governor's office to hell before you died.

Fun game, but everything else is bland, like just about every other game on the market these days. At least Red Faction provides entertainment, which is a claim that those other games can't make.

I'll give it 8 Jon Snows out of 10.
There's no blood?! This is coming from the guys that made the first two games and there's no blood? Grhhh adapted for the younger group or something, that's annoying considering what you'd do in #2. Satchel grenade on friends face? Sure thing, antipersonel gun detonating everyone everything on the screen check. I'm somewhat upset at that, I mean it's not needed to have fun but it sorta feels like they cheeped out for no reason.

Star Ocean: The Last Hope

7/10

Till the end of time was better, longer, and had Maria. Last Hope has Myuria, but is way short, and the disc changing bullshit is bullshit.

My favourite game:

Prototype: 9/10

Extremely fun with sweet voice acting, graphics and story that relies on you to uncover.

Left 4 Dead, which gets an 8/10 from me. Excellent gameplay, yet the lack of content prevents any longevity.

I pepper enemies and friends alike with gunfire, I stick miniature saw blades in them, I blow them away with explosives...not a drop to be had.

There's also a moment in the beginning where ho-hum Mason could've become totally awesome by delivering a hammer-blow of bloody justice via cutscene...only to have the screen go black at the moment of impact.

I'm not saying I NEED blood to enjoy a game...but the lack of it sure does break what little immersion RFG has. It's easy to remember that you're not in a bloody struggle for Mars' freedom without...well...blood.

Bought 2 games 2 weeks ago so:

Company of Heroes: Opposing fronts - 10/10. Can't say anything else, i just was blown away (both mentally and ingame) when i tried the multiplayer. Great graphics and it's obviously one of the best RTS games out there.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2: - 9/10. Really fun game, I found it to be very similar to SWAT 4 and alot more action. Rushing means death, Tactics means success. Plus it has Co-op wich adds alot more replayability.

No I agree, the blood isn't needed but my main gripe with this is, the game series had blood and chunks, and now they're censoring themselves why? It's probably to get the T rating, which movies do and it drives me mad.
Terminator is not a PG-13 movie, it never should be the only reason this sorta thing is done is to legally let in the younger people thus ruining the movie for a possible turn of larger profit. It'd be like Doom removing hellish demons and going to hell...OH WAIT.

[PROTOTYPE] - I'd give it around an 8, mebe a 7.5. Its just fun, super powers in a city, with zombies and military to kill. graphics can be pretty bog at times, with pop in, but it gets a lot on screen.
But I can see where it could be a bit annoying, with the random way it tell the story.
Looking to pick up Red Faction Guerrilla Next, and have Sacred 2 on the way.

Prototype: 6/10

Fun with destruction, but repetetive. Fights ok, but a bit... repetetive. Strange storytelling, sub-par plot developement. Some nice ideas (absorbing memories for example)and overall fun to throw people at helicopters. AND THIS Escort/Protect missions... GRAH...

Mass Effect. 1/10.

Excellent Characters, story, combat, levelling, RPG elements, scantily clad alien women, missions.

But it has securom.

I bought Red Orchestra for 5 bucks on steam but left a little disappointed. I thought that the game had this huge singleplayer from the eastern front but left with only a descent multiplayer.

Propably it will grow on me. 6/10
