Reading on the toilet

No I don't read in the toliet since I can do my business in there within minutes (my body functions is normal I guess).

My brother on the other hand does and he just read my magazines in there (Total Films or Neo mag). He just say to it's relaxing in there but I think otherwise.

I don't spend any longer than I need to on the can. That being said, on the unfortunate instances where I do need to spend an unusually long time on the can, I like reading books while I'm there.

I just realised I've spent the last 15 minutes reading about how people take a shit. And found it fairly diverting. Classy.

On topic: Yeah I take my book with me, but stop reading if there's anything too exciting going on. The idea is to relax the bowels, not have them knotted in anticipation. And of course, I put the book aside when it's time for the wiping.

Unless it's a bad book. Then I have a marvellous new application for it.

Well, reading isn't bad for your health, but sitting on the toilet in 'the ready position' and straining for any longer that is necessary can lead to haemorrhoids.

In a nutshell you can become so engrossed in a book that you don't realise you're doing the shitting motions for longer than you need to and begin to push your lower intestine out. Obviously this doesn't happen in one sitting, but it's a possible consequence of such prolonged and repeated behaviour, so reading on the toilet can be a bad habit to get into.

but usually i spend 15 minutes just reading with no interruptions, building up energy, then have my shit like a fucking cannon.

if i'm going for a piss, i dont read, for obvious reasons.

Thank god for the YouTube app on the iPhone! I normally finish about 10 minutes in then get distracted watching the latest yogscast or totalbiscuit video that I normally stay in there for about another 40 minutes. Worst case scenario ie: Ipod not charged and I really need to go, I normally just read the latest issue of PC Gamer or grab my 3ds if its near.
