Recommend An Anime.

So i've just finished watching the finale of Avatar (the ANIME that is) and i'm looking for something new.

I've already seen all of Death Note (bloody mind-blowing might i add) and Elven Lied (too bloody). I also adore Samurai Jack, but i wouldn't really call it an anime.

I want something as smart as Death Note (with minimal supernatural beings) with as much character integration as Avatar. But it has to be relatively short i.e. nothing over 60ish episodes. I'd like to watch Bleach and Naruto but they're over 300 and still going so there's no way!

P.S. No Hayao Miyazaki films thank you.

I would recommend black lagoon if you want a short, good anime.

All of them are good Anime's that are shorter than most.

Rurouni Kenshen is long but still really good.
I would Suggest the manga though.

FLCL and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagaan are both great. The problem with FLCL is that it's really short and takes 2-3 watches before you figure out the whole story and get the characterization all figured out. There's just so much going on below the surface that it takes a while to see everything. Great show, though.

Ok, a few I can heartily recommend:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai, FullMetal Alchemist, and Umineko no Naku Koro ni. Oh, and the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

I'd recommend Code Geass (imagine Death note with giant robots) and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a must watch anime, even if you aren't too keen on it.

Try something awesome instead of all the lame and go for:

BLACK LAGOON which is a brilliant story about a Japanese business guy that suddenly finds himself among modern day pirates and mobsters. It's a really interesting series, 2 seasons launched. The third we know little of, but its supposedly on the way. I guarantee its worth a watch.

LUCKY STAR well, it's random... It has an interesting drawing style, it's sort of a humor show, so no bloody action. I'm sure you'll also come to love it.

CODE GEASS not among my favorites really, but it's worth having a look at =)

I think you'll like them. Personally I prefer reading manga because sometimes voices are really annoying (im looking at you Naruto)
