Recommend an anime

I've been looking for an anime to watch but I'm not sure of what to look into. I was fond of Mobile Suit Gundam and Hellsing so anything of that ilk would be very welcome

Edit. I know people have done this before, please don't waste your time by pointing that out

Also, do you only watch dubs or do you watch subs?

I can watch subs quite happily

In that case, in addition to the ones I said earlier, there's Angel Beats!. I also must insist that you watch Bokurano, it's the best show with giant robots. There's also always Clannad, which must be watched with subtitles since the dubbed version sounds terrible.

I'm always happy to recommend some anime, but can I ask why you didn't just search it if you knew it had been done before?
People generally recommend the same ones every time.

I guess I thought I might of got different responses, oh well it gives us something to do
