Assault on Dark Athena was actually really good.MrCalavera said:Heard Prey is a very good sci-fi FPS.
And since people are arleady throwing rpgmixes: Chronicles of Riddick, good mix of stealthy and shooty action.
Second this. Serious Sam is hardly serious (Kill a huge number of aliens in wave after wave in exotic locations with interesting weapons) but it's a lot of fun to play. In SS3 I was getting a routine kill count of at least 1000 per level. The final level is at least double if not triple that.Smooth Operator said:Well since most of the good stuff was already mentioned I'm not going to repeat it.
But there is still Serious Sam HD and Serious Sam 3, not the most sci-fi and the story is Duke Nukem level, but if you want to kick some alien monster ass with insane weaponry then that is the way to go.
AVP is better for pure terror, but AVP2 has a storyline, where Predator storyline, Alien Storyline and Marine storyline actually cross and affect each other. So you actually have to play all three of them in order to see the full story.OneCatch said:The Alien vs Predator games - generally the older the better (AvP Classic 2000 is often on steam sale)
I mostly added the caveat to spare the OP wasting money on Colonial Marines! Pretty much agree with you about AVP2 - it was also a tad more refined than it's predecessor in terms of gameplay.Dalisclock said:AVP is better for pure terror, but AVP2 has a storyline, where Predator storyline, Alien Storyline and Marine storyline actually across and affect each other. For the record, by FPS I mean FPS, not third person. Already played the bajeezus out of Mass Effect.
And laughing. A lot. One of a handful of genuinely funny FPS's. Which makes the series particularly appealing since it is one of the rare AAA games that does not take itself so seriously.Johnny Novgorod said:The Borderlands games, if you like your looting and your grinding.
And laughing, yes. I like the little things, like mission briefings or gun names/descriptions. Center stage jokes are more hit and miss.dohnut king said:And laughing. A lot.
