And laughing, yes. I like the little things, like mission briefings or gun names/descriptions. Center stage jokes are more hit and miss.

Sadly true. Many of the core jokes in Borderlands 2 were so juvenile and uninspired I've yet to even finish the game. I just couldn't bring myself to play any more when I realized I was on a mission to kill countless creatures just so, for some nonsensical reason, some guy could think up names for them. Names as profound as "boner fart".

Still, the actual subtle humor injected into both games is generally fantastic. I chuckled many times while playing through the first game.

Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines counts as FPS, right?
Bloody masterpiece, that one. Though very much RPG too...

Crysis also, perhaps?


Also, nice as it is, Deus Ex: HR is not strictly FPS - I recall whole lot of third person action in it.
