A bunch of stuff that people have already said, basically. Cowboy BeBop, Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, Legend of the Galactic Heroes, Tiger & Bunny, Fullmetal Alchemist, Interstella 5555, Planetes...

..and if you really want to prove a point, Ghost in the Shell. Here's the contradiction: the main character is half naked for a good third of the movie, and yet it's totally non-exploitive of this fact and it all feels completely natural that it should be this way. That's the true mark of maturity.

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. It's very spice-of-life mixed with sci-fi and has both adult and childish humor.

No horror or gore, a bit but mostly innocent sexualization and very little violence.

Is your mom retarded?! wait *thinks about his own parents* you know what? nevermind.

I'd suggest Mushi-shi all the way. there is ZERO fanservice, the series is very subtle in atmosphere, and it has BRILLIANT stories in every episode, plus, the series has some very personal concepts (parental abuse, power and disillusionment, depression, abandonment); one of my personal favourites. Why hasn't anyone mentioned this yet?

You can always go with any of the kiddo animes, anything that ends in 'mon' or is specifically designed to sell cheap useless crap.
Or you could go the route of more adult-oriented (yet not porno) anime like FullMetal Alchemist, Trigun, Evangelion (no tentacle rape, but heavy on the mind-fuck), Claymore or Blue Gender.
Blue Gender? Are you serious? Sure it lacks in the more conventional type of sexy, but the themes and overtones of Blue Gender are ALL about sex.
Though as far as I can recall (I haven't watched thew series in some time) there wasn't any rape (tentacle or otherwise.
No rape per se, but the visuals and the themes allude to it.

I'm not entirely sure if this thread is actually some weird attempt to troll or what. Theres plenty of Anime that has nothing to do with technical rape.... Heck without even going Exotic these all have english versions and are on TV if you look hard enough.

Trigun, Trinity Blood, Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Dragonball Z, Yu Yu Hakashu, Deathnote, Full Metal Alchemist.

Thats without bothering to go with more exotic options that have never been aired. If you can't find Anime that doesn't involve tentacle rape thats because all you watch is tentacle rape.

I haven't even mentioned more serious anime choices.

One Piece.

The longest running anime, about 600 episodes and 11 movies.

Edit:
The only time rape comes up is when a World Noble kills some guy while he's meeting with his fiance, and the Noble says that he wants the girl to be his new wife, and to put her with the rest. So it alludes to rape, but never shows any of it. (Seabody Archipelego arc)

Torture comes up a lot, but even when it does show it, which is very rare, it never gets graphic. (Impel Down arc)

Genocide comes up once, and it's shown, but it doesn't get graphic either, it just shows the giant boat holding an entire country's inhabitants get blown up. Not people, just the boat. (Enies Lobby arc)

Racism comes up a few times (Nami's Hometown arc, Seabody Archipelego arc, Fishman Island arc) but the racist people are such idiots that you couldn't possibly side with them.

Murder is pretty common, but the difference between dying and simply being shot/stabbed/beaten/etc until the person is defeated is hard to distinguish. Lots of people everyone thought died, didn't. Then they show up in later chapters, or at least a lot of them do.

"Angel Beats".

Light on fanservice, heavy on emotional load.

Alternatively, "Haibane Renmei".

I like the suggestion of Nodame Cantabile. Nothing offensive in it whatsoever, great fun, good romance.

If a shorter example is preferred, then I say Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away is a good bet.

Perhaps your mother believes in strong family values, then go with Summer Wars.

I watch anime with my dad a lot now, he loves it, if you can get your Mom into it you'll have a great time for years to come.

I'd really not say that one since the Kid With The Golden Bat kind of kills people in every show. After watching a couple episodes even the intro can bring some people to tears, knowing all the characters in the intro are all depressed and suicidal, even though they're all smiling and laughing.

Show her this. Strange and has a really childish look.
Also Case Closed/Detective Conan is pretty innocent on the sex part.
Edit: seeing the preview picture from Youtube I think my first recommendation was terrible...

Dance in the Vampire Bund, it has a bit of slow start but very well rounded with lots of violence, romace, and comedy.
also Demon King Daimao was awsome, it was really short tho (12 episodes) and has some some big athiest undertones and are pretty suprising from an anime but does nt take anything away from its silly ness
I wonder who translated that name; unless I'm seriously mistaken, "Demon King Daimao" means "Demon King Demon King" in a combination of English and Japanese.

OT: As others have said, pretty much any anime will do. Heck, there's plenty of Hentai out there without tentacle rape if all you want to do is prove that not everything involves tentacles and rape. As for specific suggestions, pretty much anything that aired on the old Toonami block would be a good place to start: notable series include Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Outlaw Star, and pretty much any Gundam series[footnote]I personally favor UC era stuff, but to really get into that you have to start with the first series, the animation of which has aged rather poorly, and may not be the best thing to use to get someone to reconsider any stereotypical notions they might have about anime. Definitely no tentacle rape, although there's usually at least one scene of female nudity in every series.[/footnote].

And what's wrong with that? it's simply developing and exploring, quite a deep theme, through each of the characters... It's not really exploitative or sexualized...<.<

I'd say:
Robotech(Macross),Witch Hunter Robin or something of the same mindset of being really realistic with a that either has super advanced tech or is a little quirky like having magic or aliens but doesn't really break the forth wall or has a lot of fan service.

Oh I just thought of Lupin the 3rd(Some sexual themes and violence),Detective Conan,Mobile Suit Gundam(any series really).

Yeah, unfortunate preview pic. The series actually looks kind of interesting, though; a show about an apprentice ninja that not only /doesn't/ fall into standard Shonen tropes, but judging by the character designs, is highly reminiscent of a lot of 80's and 90's anime series? Sold.

Edit: Although I'm afraid that instead of falling into Shonen tropes, it'll fall into Moe tropes, which are even more annoying. There's only one way to find out...
