Yes, yes, another "Recommend me" thread...

I've tired my extensive collection of music and I need some different stuff. I like almost anything, but some of my favourite bands include Tool, Radiohead, The Beatles, Wu-Tang Clan, Parkway Drive, Metallica, Anberlin, At The Drive-In, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Pendulum, Netsky, deadmau5 and Nirvana. Basically anything that's good, no matter what genre or style. I really enjoy obscure covers and remixes as well, so those would be much appreciated.

Thank you ladies and gentlemen :)

Some of my favorites are The Flashbulb, God is an Astronaut, Antonio Vivaldi, Infected Mushroom, Xploding Plastix, and Amon Amarth to name a few. Although I'd have to say my top favorite would be The Flashbulb. Hope this helped, dunno if you'll like any but I figured I'd chime in.

No matter what genre, eh? Well, my favourite genre is Trance, so I'll just list some of my current favourite in the spoiler below:
Synapse Dynamics. A fantastic mashup by the brilliant ArtyPromises, remixed by the newly reformed Gabriel and Dresden and quite a comeback at thatArrival, as remixed by Ashley Wallbridge. Another fantastic trackLast, but not least, Holding On, as remixed by George Acosta. Great track
If you like it, let me know and I'll find more for you. In my opinion, the ones above are some of the greatest trance has to offer at the moment.

Haven't listened to much trance, just a bit of Armin Van Buuerin (Or however it's spelt) and Tiesto. Like all the tracks on offer, keep 'em coming!

Time to break out the neo-classical, progressive, symphonic, orchestral, French heavy metal!
I consider this to be better than the original, myself. That's not really saying much by my standards, but I'm sure people more familiar with Led Zeppelin will take it a bit more seriously.

Also, who doesn't love weird, minor-kay jazz from the late 30s?

As for all-around good music, have some metal.

It looks like so:

[ youtube=<jumble of text after = sign in URL> ]

Only without the spaces. If you quote my previous post, you should see how it's done.

About as obscure as you can get
They're obscure? Maybe it is just the circles I hangout with but most of the people I know have at least heard Solitaire Unraveling.

Try Moloko for something techno/disco-ish, the singer has a great voice and has some solo material as well (Roisin Murphy, if I remember correctly)

Any soundtrack from any Studio Ghibli movie. Particularly Spirited away and Nausicaa: valley of the Wind.

If you are in the mood for some swing, try the Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Big bad voodoo daddy.

Otherwise, I recommend Elbow, John Butler, Movits! and Brad sucks (despite the name, they don't suck)

I'm always in the mood for swing :D

Cheers for the suggestions everyone, I've got more than enough music to last for a while. Love the wide variety of stuff too, it's a great mix. Thanks again.

Anberlin are the best, you have my instant respect. I love Anberlin and I also love Rise Against, so maybe you could give them a go.

IF you'd like some upbeat stuff, I've got a few -

Anyone who can turn Nirvana's stuff into an uplifting anthem gets my vote, plus all their stuff just has that feelgood thing going on. Shame the whole 'cult' thing scares people off. Since when did having a 'look' make a band bad? Also, having about 30 members in your band, you figure they're probably not in it to be millionaires :D

More covers, just because I love em too. (note to anyone doing a cover version, DO something with it, if you're just going to clone it, what was the point?)

I give you the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain - continuing the Nirvana theme...

and one you'd not expect, looking at them :)

and a rather personal one, while all my friends at school revered Napalm Death and Slayer, I had far more time for bands like Lawnmower Deth, perhaps not as musically skilled, but it was so obvious that they having about 73 times more FUN being a metal band, and they never pretended to have massive talent, they just rode the wave and enjoyed it, and their live gigs were hilarious!

Bonus points here for being a west country bunch of Brits covering 'kids in america', he accent is SO wrong fo it, and for spending about ten quid on the music video!

Lastly as you mentioned Elbow, here's their piece of Destiny's Child, complete with 100% more kittens!
