Anberlin are the best, you have my instant respect. I love Anberlin and I also love Rise Against, so maybe you could give them a go.

IF you'd like some upbeat stuff, I've got a few -

Anyone who can turn Nirvana's stuff into an uplifting anthem gets my vote, plus all their stuff just has that feelgood thing going on. Shame the whole 'cult' thing scares people off. Since when did having a 'look' make a band bad? Also, having about 30 members in your band, you figure they're probably not in it to be millionaires :D

More covers, just because I love em too. (note to anyone doing a cover version, DO something with it, if you're just going to clone it, what was the point?)

I give you the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain - continuing the Nirvana theme...

and one you'd not expect, looking at them :)

and a rather personal one, while all my friends at school revered Napalm Death and Slayer, I had far more time for bands like Lawnmower Deth, perhaps not as musically skilled, but it was so obvious that they having about 73 times more FUN being a metal band, and they never pretended to have massive talent, they just rode the wave and enjoyed it, and their live gigs were hilarious!

Bonus points here for being a west country bunch of Brits covering 'kids in america', he accent is SO wrong fo it, and for spending about ten quid on the music video!

Lastly as you mentioned Elbow, here's their piece of Destiny's Child, complete with 100% more kittens!

I love Rise Against, they're playing in my city tonight, but due to unemployment I couldn't get a ticket... Feels bad bro.

This is fantastic, and that last bit is completely true. Being in a band, we started out doing covers, and I always tried to get us to play them in a different style, maybe try a funk version of a Bad Religion song or something, never happened :(

Armin van Buuren does have some decent tracks, though I like his radio shows more nowadays, but he's still a great DJ.

Anyway, since you asked for more suggestions, more will come!
As for individual artists, almost anything by Gareth Emery, Arty, Mat Zo and Aly & Fila is fantastic. A few of the above track are by them, but look them up if you like it.

First I want to recommend Miracle of Sound on this very site (purchase here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/artist/miracle-of-sound/id418956023 ). Checked it out yet?, good.

Since you say you like remixes I would recommend OCRemix.org, which is a website dedicated to remixing video game music. Its all free and there is really good music available.

If you don't mind japanese music I also recommend Touhou Remixes, specifically those by Silver Forest( http://www.silver--forest.com/ ), there are samples from their albums available.

Some good tracks you picked out, especially the first one. Also, as for the radio shows, Armin van Buuren has an homepage dedicated to it here, with older as well as newer of the shows available for download. Other radio shows I can recommend are Above & Beyond's Trance Around The World and also Intuition Radio Show with Menno de Jong, which is also my favourite.

They are all broadcast at various times on Digitally Imported, Intuition on Wednesdays, ASOT on Thursdays and TATW on Fridays. All in all, DI is also a great internet radio, lots of different channels with all the different styles of electronic dance music. Hope that helps.

I never want to hear of or see this band again... Really not my cup of tea. And the fans are infuriating, kinda like Escape the Fate's fanbase of screaming 12 year old girls.

I really enjoy obscure covers and remixes as well, so those would be much appreciated.
Covers you say? In that case I recommend you some Children of Bodom. Their own stuff is a bit heavy for a lot of people, but I leave you with these:

They've done a load more like Anthrax's Antisocial and Scorpion's Don't Stop at the Top but I'm not going to list them all. Definitely check out Lookin' Out My Backdoor if you are going to listen to any of them - it is as obscure as it gets.

Joe Satriani is a guitar god. He mentored Kirk Hammett along with many other awesome guitarists.

And his experience shows, his songs will blow you away the first time you hear them.

Not me. I'm a massive Children of Bodom fan, and love all of their stuff, especially their album Are You Dead Yet. Growls and keyboard solos just sound so right together.
